Never listen to Elvis before because he has been labeled as uncool

>never listen to Elvis before because he has been labeled as uncool
>stream and later buy a physical copy of From Elvis in Memphis
>Album is super fucking good

Damn, I wish a silent generation or boomer dropped some Elvis Pills for me a long time ago. While he has a lot of mediocre material, his good stuff is fucking gold!

I'm actually listening to that album right now. Es bueno

what's your favorite song? Mine are "Wearin that Loved on Look" and "In the Ghetto"

Our of all the songs so far, probably Any Day. Though I'll have to listen to the album more if i want a more defined opinion on the songs.

if you like "In The Ghetto" check this one out

elvis is supremely based

the only thing holding Elvis back from being an all time GOAT is that he didn't write any of his own music. He was basically a human jukebox

You don't have to say you love me is my favourite Elvis track.

I've been getting into Tom Jones recently. He and Elvis were good friends.

Even as a keen singer-songwriter myself I wouldn’t say that’s a black mark on an artist. There’s a lot to be said for how a singer interprets and delivers a song, for example Can’t Help Falling In Love in Elvis’s case, Frank Sinatra singing My Way or Louis Armstrong’s Wonderful Word. I don’t think anyone could ever top their versions.

can't help falling in love
but the lillo and stich version

But the Beatles- the GOAT songwriters worshipped him as their god

This

In The Ghetto is best song

some of hes sappy sentimental stuff gives me goosebumps. I prefer his vegas period and religious albums over his rock and early records

No one told you he is the King?

Most musicians throughout history didn't write their song either, but that's not what truly matters about an artist, but the way he interprets a song that's been given to him. The tempo, instrumentals, the key, how to sing it, al that matters, not just writing.
It is true that Elvis never wrote a song, albeit he is regarded as co-writer of a few, he did demanded how the songs were supposed to be played.
He wasn't a puppet.

who the fuck ever said elvis was uncool

congrats
you figured out how to listen to music on your own
