IGOR
IGOR
Trash
trash ass album bruh
cute
uninspired garbage
Legitimately fun album with insane replayability. Layered synths get me every time. I honestly can't think of any other albums similar to IGOR, and fills a niche I've been craving since flower boy.
Kind of shit how it's trendy to hate it at the moment, but I reckon it'll be remembered throughout the year. Yea Forums just has a massive fucking hate boner for black people and specifically, Tyler.
I don’t understand why this board is so racist. this whole website is I guess
>people don't like this album made by a black person
>yep, they're definitely racist and don't just dislike the music
that's definitely what they were saying, good job dude!
You missed my point. I'm not saying people are racist for giving the album a low score, I'm saying prejudices possibly influenced their opinion of the album.
The number of criticisms that I've seen that are simply attacking Tyler or say "HiP hOp TrAsH" is ridiculous.
better pink album this year oops
knock knock
whos there
tyler the creator trying to get back into Australia
aoty
Fuck this board
Holy shit, this guy is so fucking pretentious, maybe even more than xxxtentacion on 17.
thsi reminds me of that really pretentious shit at the beginning of that new David Cage game where some woman tells you 'this is not just some game...this is an EXPERIENCE'
This is the best album of the year
vocals melodies on this album are a different kind of trash
I love how he tries to be funny at the end to make you forget about the horse shit this is. That's how you know he's fragile. Also, I'm positive even the rap fans of this board are able to tell what this album is called just by looking at the front cover, so thanks for telling us twice Tyler. I'm also positive most people know how to listen to music so again thanks for telling us, Tyler.
>ridin round town they gone feel this one (x4)
>for real for real for real this time (x4)
>don't leave it's my fault (x3)
>how can I tell you (x8)
>runnin out of time runnin out of time runnin out of time runnin out of time to make you love me (x2)
>please don't leave me now (x8)
>no don't shoot me down (x4)
>I see the light (x5)
>I dont love you anymore (x4)
Compare with the hook for blow
>baby you're an angel, how about we turn this into a fable of some sort
>you already know you're dead, ironic cause you're lipstick is red, of course
>I stuff you in the trunk, drunk, cause all I wanna do is fuck and snort blow
It's astounding how lazy he's gotten. I can already tell what some of you are gonna say too
>like more complex is better
>nothing wrong with repetition for hooks
>he was just edgy back then
This style of hooks/bridges was seen throughout the album and made it an incredibly samey and boring listen. Hooks can be one word, hooks can be super complex, but to just spam a phrase mindlessly like Tyler did on every song is just lazy.
Ask me how I know you watch Anthony Fantano
Why does this album piss off zoomers so much
>I am very smart
Father of the Bride is much better
Pol can't accept he's gay
Nope. This thing is perfect. Don't know why Yea Forums is so pissy, haven't seen it this bad since TPAB was good
TPAB was actually SHIT
Yeah see there ya go you're retarded
What objectively incorrect, contrarianism =\= critical thinking skills
>dood it's got jazz samples, so deep!!!
I have only heard Earfquake so far. I didn't particularly care for it. Is the rest of the album better? Because if that track is the highlight, then I have absolutely no interest in the album.
This album is so fucking. It bothers me the fact that it isn't barely talked about.
Aotysf
Are all these haters former Tyler fans that don't like his new direction? I've never been a fan, I still don't like a lot of his verses, but the album as a whole is fucking solid. Production bumps hard as fuck
Have you considered just listening to the album?
Hey genius, that's why I asked the question. If the rest of the album sounds like Earfquake, then I don't want to listen to that album.
amazing project!!
What exactly didn't you like about it?
Yeah dude the whole fuckin album sounds exactly like the one song you already listened to
Don’t patronize him
Funny how Tyler and OF is all this board talked about a few years ago and now somehow hate this album despite it easily being one the best of the year. This board has been infested by newfags/zoomers or /pol/, not sure which is worse.
The fact that you think 3 years ago was old Yea Forums is telling. There was a time when people made up there own mind without fantano telling them what their favorite album was, you know back when he was shitposting here
>Funny how Tyler and OF is all this board talked about a few years ago
That's because they grew up and graduated high school
remember back when you could like this album without being called a Fantano drone? good times :)
ok but the chorus for blow hardly makes sense. its just non-sequiturs that are phrased like they're connected, but it's just random shit that rhymes.
Except people wouldn't have treated this album this way if it weren't for people like him. I mean hell there's someone in this thread pretending that talking about the "layered synths" and "replayability" of the album counts as actual criticism
those are aspects of the album you can talk about muh dood
I hate this garbage. It’s death grips tier.
Barely even rap, bullshit for white people.
Not a Tyler fan, but I gave this album a shot. It's good, possibly great. Definitely grew on me the more I listened. I appreciated the production value and instrumentation. I did think the bars/lyrics were a little weak. maybe that was an artistic choice.
It's not really meant to be a rap album - Tyler even asked his fans what genre they thought it was.
Has Tyler invented a whole new genre of music with this?
I think that's a stretch; it's more like he did a nice job of blending several genres together.
niggas be up in this album aint even listen to Stevie Wonder smdh
Vocal minority. If you see any actual /pol/ posters remind them of their place in society and move on.
People weren’t even dumping on the album here until Fantano gave it a good review. There’s more people who waited for the Fantano review so that they could be contrarian.
Contrarianism isn’t intelligence, it’s something idiots use to try and superficially seem ahead of the curve rather than actually critically think or form an opinion.
>Yea Forums just has a massive fucking hate boner for black people and specifically, Tyler
Not true, at least not in this case of why it's trendy to hate it. Any album that Anthony Fantano breaks out the yellow flannel for isn't hip to like here and even if you liked the album before his review/never watched it you will still be a "Fantano Drone." Pretty sure the only people who actually regularly keep up with Fantano here are the ones with huge hate boners for him and want to keep up with his scores so they can call other people drones if they say they like them.
nah, people just don't like the album that much. after fantano did his review there were a hundred threads with a screenshot of his score, naturally your going to see more people who talk about disliking the album after it's the only thing being discussed here
>people just don't like the album that much
those people are wrong :)
this is a flawed approach to any sort of discussion, and the one that leads to people calling others racists just for disagreeing with their opinion on an album ;)
then stop being racist I guess lol
Definitely not like some of his best work, but it's not that bad.
hip hop trash
>im not saying that your opinion is racist im just saying that your opinion is influenced by your racism
nice mental gymnastics. Album is boring trash, kys yourself
See, the thing about the whole "racism" stigma here is I'm quite sure most if not all of it is a joke. I see it all the time with Pepe wearing the suit and tie and being all like "oh, you listen to monkey music?" or something along the lines of that. That was prevalent for a while, though I still see a thread like that appear every so often on the board. Newfags just don't get it.
>someone dislikes an album made by a black person
>YEP. MUST BE DEM POL BIGOTS
okay shizo
It's pronounced eye-gore
Lbr this is a 6. I like listening to it though
yet another unremarkable rap album. “THAT PRODUCTION BRUH”
no continual narrative or greater meaning, no outside influence, nothing groundbreaking. i hope this current rap craze dies soon so the true innovators can get their spotlight instead of being outshined by such mediocrity.
