hey that's cool, man, glad you enjoy it.

>a wide-reaching double LP that uses throwaway tracks that were composed over the last 5+ years

So has he just given up on Captain Murphy

good taste

>while also exposing new strengths as an artist

are we listening to the same album or have zoomers really taken over

bbump where the flamagra talk!?!?

You're Dead

it's shit

this guy is so shit his main selling point is that he’s black and distantly related to john coltrane. what a hack.

I found to be utter shit compared to his past albums

go to bed KRIEGMEISTER

yeah it's his worst since 1983

I haven't listened to much of his discog outside of Cosmogramma and You're Dead but I think it's okay. Not as good as the aforementioned but not bad.

literally who

was that a Dragon Ball sample at the end of the intro song? flylo stay dabbin on all producers

>Yellow belly

what the fuck was that

he's making fun of a hack on YouTube known as underbelly

>Thundercat bass line

The most boring fusion-LARP i've ever seen

i hope so. that shit was so cringe

You're Dead is one of his weakest albums. Until the Quiet Comes is the GOAT FlyLo album. Shit is so moody and produced so fucking well.

my man

listening now. second track is flames

based UTQC remains a personal favorite as well
it's a track from 2015

I love Until the Quiet Comes, but I think Cosmogramma is slightly better, top two FlyLo records for sure

atm I'm thinking Cosmo > Quiet Comes > Los Angeles > You're Dead > Flamagra

oh shit forgot 1983, probably just above Flamagra, idk I have to listen to it more

His best will always be LA and there is really no debate about that in my book, Cosmogramma and You're Dead are close behind tho imo.

This album is good, but it's not nearly as mind bending as some of his previous work. A decent but not standout effort from a first listen

Depends on my mood really. Cosmo is really fuckin weird and I love it, but I like the downtempo elements of UTQC.
The issue I have with You're Dead is that it shoves the jazz element in your face without just being a jazz influenced electronic album. It's too quick to remind us what it's trying to be, rather than just be.

I hope there's more to unpack on the second listen because the first left me pretty underwhelmed.

A lot more soul influence, a lot more accessible than most of his other work. Not necessarily a bad thing but where the song writing overall is pretty tight on the longer tracks I felt like the album lacks cohesion or much of a driving theme like past albums.

takashi best track?

>this guy is so shit his main selling point is that he’s black
When the fuck has he EVER used this as a selling point? Do you think just being black is a marketing scheme?

Just finished listening. It's pretty middle-of-the road when compared to his other releases.
