Toby is notoriously bad for being a slow shit when shipping out their merch. It took over a year for some people to get their Hubardo LPs.

On the other hand, the only version of the Choirs LP to sell on discogs was over 100 bucks.

Kind of a pick your poison scenario.

I use discogs pretty regularly. I've nothing but excellent experience with the site in general, and 99 percent of the sellers are great.

From the US so no import tax bullshit, though.

Discogs is unironically the most legit place to buy physical music online. As long as you avoid buying from people with 2 stars in their feedback or new accounts you'll be fine.
If you're buying more popular releases that have been released in various parts of the world like Europe, it shouldn't be that hard to find other european sellers with the item you're looking for.
If you're looking for a semi-rare album only released in like 100 pieces in the U.S, you'll probably have to deal with overseas shipping costs.
It's safe if thats what you were wondering, though. Also a good place to catalog your collection and find new shit.

I have bought and sold on Discogs and it has been pretty good both ways. I will disagree with the other user about new users though, since everyone was new at one point. Avoid sellers with bad feedback and it’s all good, just like eBay

I haggled the guy down to $40 for all the dollar bins in the store one time.

Just use the exact same common sense as you would on eBay and you'll be fine. Paying with paypal makes it a no-brainer. It's a useful resource since you can get the specific issue of an album that you want without having to cross-reference (assuming that the seller actually listed the correct one).
My only problems are that there's a fair few sellers with overly-optimistic prices (I'm the only one selling the Uzbekistan pressing of this common CD! $99.95, RARE!) , and many of the shipping prices out to Australia will rule them out for me, but there's great deals to be found on there for sure.

They're Bioshphere as well, Microgravity and Patashnik. They (and the copy of Substrata as well) are reissues. I actually have the vinyl version of Patashnik as well but I wasn't happy with it so I decided to replace it with the CD.

That's the day of the 10th anniversary, which was when he initially planned to ship them. He got the first batch of records in a week or so ago so he decided to ship those out.
The initial pressing quantity was like 300, which he upped to 500 a couple months later, and a week ago he upped it to 750, so if you're one of the later buyers it might still be a month before you get yours.

I have "Sun Baked Snow Cave" on vinyl. Its one of my favourite Boris and Merzbow albums.

I’m a Europoor and I buy almost exclusively from Discogs. There is no chance of finding cheap grails in any thrift store/record shop in my country, so I pretty much have to.

Never had any problems, just remember to ask for pictures for the expensive things. I’m the guy who bought the Lysol and before I found the copy in the photo, I asked another guy to send pictures of his $100 original pressing:

From the photos it was an obvious bootleg – no visible title, no stickered-over title, and no barcode on the back (definitive of a Lysol bootleg). He also couldn’t produce photos of the original sleeves, which is another sign. Don’t know what the guy was thinking sending me those photos. Did he think I maybe wouldn’t notice? Lol. Never blindly trust a seller to know his shit, it might be a record store account or a senile dad-rocker.

Always a nice surprise.

I just dont close the tab on my copy, and have it in an outer plastic sleeve so it stays shut. That way the cardboard wont ever bend.
