That's partially true, it can sound just unearthly, but not always in the positive sense. I like acid but I don't do it for now because it's addicting for me. Once when I put on stratosphere or long season, I didn't recognize the songs and I couldn't remember them. And on boards on canada it sounded so hopeless that I got depressed and layed scared and thought about death. I'll maybe limit it to up to once a year, cus I'm scared of getting permanently fucked up and I often consider burning all my acid on comedown

well you know it's all about the setting and your mood, so it affects the listening experience as well
it is same for me for mdma, it can easily get depressive if i think about problems and not just focus on music/dancing

Yeah I know, I often did it when family was home and there was I fucked up, not sure if I'm dreaming or if it's real and literally not remembering who I am, except for 'my' name, stressing out if someone will come in, even though it's 2AM and I'm not really loud. So that was bad setting. Also I usually trip for like 24h+ and I got into this weird cycle when I justified doing acid regularly and saying that many people do it etc. and I wanted to 'reset' or 'reborn' myself when I felt an urge to and forgot the bad sides and potential consequences.
Hopefully I'll do it more safely in the future
