neither of them should be bad, though i would've expected the orange and the marshall to be more expensive than the katana. you must decide on what sound you really want.

You are correct, the vast majority of the sound does come from the pre-amp. The power amp section varies in that the output tubes do impact the tone/feel/dynamics once the power amp is engaged. Different tubes have different headroom and frequency response. Generally speaking, 6L6/6V6 are more common in American amps and EL84/EL34 is more common in British amps but you can find lots of different stuff as you shop around. Don't let it confuse you too much though, each amp is different and the pre-amp is one of the most important parts.

I have a looping pedal by BOSS (pic related). I also have FL studio on my PC. Is it possible for me to do a sort of one-man-show live-looping setup with these two things? Basically I want to have more than just a loop and overdub. Additionally I want to be able to mute and start all these loops whenever I want through FL on my computer. Is that possible with this setup? If not, is there another setup that could make this work?

I had to drag the sample from my audio folder into the DAW and then manipulate it, but I want to be able to do it live, and I want what I play to start looping as soon as I tell it to (with the press of a pedal).

but the company is good for support, any fender product has become the standard and is used for everything from comparing tones to full modification and mix/matching parts, they're so widely produced that they are able to change things based on feedback fairly easily and I'm sure they receive a lot of quality feedback from the wide base of users
revstars look very nice and I hear they're decent but yamaha just pumps out instruments in the same fashion as fender (mainly keys) and the support around yamaha guitars just isn't the same as other actual guitar companies, not to mention the poor advertising

I think it’s because for the first couple years I avoided my pinky until I consciously made the effort to strengthen it. My pointer middle and ring are straight as an arrow and look great while playing but my pinky sticks out and goes wild until I use it.

Get a Pignose and a tube distortion pedal. The pedal will give enough realistic fuzz to let the amp's transistor distortion get nice and screamy and chunky. Much money needn't be spent.
The Behringer GDI21 is of cheep build quality but the sound is the absolute bee's tits. Check out some youtube demos user, that little thing is legit. Good even into a clean channel but really good ahead of a distortion channel.
Well yes I will do that sometimes, maybe not 30 minutes, but primarily I will record a lick, line, full song cover, anything involving metronome work, etc. whatever you’re practicing.
The best place to start is to put your phone down and record what you place best front to back raw. Listen to it and you’ll hear the flaws you need to work on. Another great way is to play to jam tracks.

I have a 50w 5150 iii combo, I use its "power level" knob at the lowest setting for playing in my apartment. A lot of amps out there now have built in attenuation of some sort. But if you're not looking to play with a drummer any time soon, 50w is definitely excessive.
