What's your favourite synthesizer, Yea Forums ?
If I could ever get my hands on a JP8 I'd be a happy man

but you don't want to fall for the hardware meme, do you?
I'd never buy one unless I won the lottery, they're stupid expensive
Either an Oberheim OB-Xa with all the voices, a Sequential Prophet 10 w/ MIDI, or a CS-80.
Software is for autists and poorfags. A simple, no-frills hardware setup (like a Sub37, one of the new Dave Smith prophets and your drum machine/sampler of choice) paired with a decent computer workstation for recording/sequencing will always be the god-tier setup in terms of actual workflow.
tesla coil
behringer is teasing a clone iirc. CS-80 comes first tho and I'm more excited for that desu. Was already considering saving up for a Deckard's Dream and this looks like it could be even better. Hard to say what my favorite synth is, but a nice VCO poly like this is a definite holy grail.
Overall favorite would be the korg wavestation, not big into polyphonic analogs myself. In terms of analog synths I'd go with the minimoog.
I just bought an MPC live. I haven’t produced music in 12 years and back then I had a 2000XL and Korg Triton. What keyboard do I need to look into? I really hate production on software.
"Vintage" gear is just a waste of money from my experience. It's cumbersome, breaks down often, and is nearly all reproducible via cheaper options. A lot of them have poorly designed, inefficient layouts, but I guess if it's something you grew up and already are familiar with, that's not so much an issue.
If you really feel the need to own a board beyond the sake of novelty factor, Yamaha, Roland, and Korg all make perfectly fine workstations. I think the MOXF/KROSS/FA get the most bang for you buck, while the more expensive options don't quite live up to their price tag.
the microkorg.
has served me very well for making all sorts of music; just takes a bit to learn it.
> Software is for autists
so, the kind of people who are actually willing to sit down and spend time designing a sound?
Wish the resonance wasn't as harsh, I basically turn it down to zero for most patches because it's crazy sibiliant/metallic
I didn’t make the autist remark but I don’t like DAWs for my workflow. I find I’m spending more time clicking and moving on screen than actually playing. That’s my take on it.
For me it is the Moog Taurus metal base.
Lol
The VST version of this and the M1 are fucking great
When making music I always return to them. cheesiness aside they are filled with GOAT tier sounds and textures that can't be found anywhere else. plus they are very reminiscent of every early 90s tv show
That post wasn't humorous.
Bass Station 2 is sick, I enjoy fucking around in Massive every now and then.
Owned an ESQ-1 and MS2000 and they just gathered dust
i like the sub phatty. it's super basic but it sounds good and is a lot of fun to use
LOL
aahahhaha
The nice thing about being into some digital synths is that you basically get the whole package plus better interface plus all memory expansions for them in the form of a VST. Love some of the D50 and JV sounds by Roland too.

I work at Roland Cloud AMA.
how did you make a synthisizer
laughing at his life tbdesu
What's the next step in your master plan?
Have fun slowly double clicking your way to a song m8
It's a seething samefag ya dip
which of the synths in the cloud do you think is the personal best emulation?
bump for
>tfw roland user was trolling
did you think the cloud would stop me pirating them?
emu proteus 2000
Awaiting this.
>poorfags
Software and laptops cost money too
you've described something similar to my workstation
although i use 90s romplers bought off ebay and my guitars
I went from hardware to software because I mainly precompose the music and then transfer it into MIDI these days. I've still got a cheap keyboard to write on though.
Plebs still haven’t posted the best
