Agreed. The Police need more love here.
red pilled album indeed.
I slightly prefer Reggatta de Blanc
Why does Yea Forums hate them? Some user called them overrated. This is the first Police thread in about three months. The rest of the internet hardly talks about them either. All their albums should be right up there with the other big new wave releases. The Police fans are not obnoxious nor very vocal.
Zenyatta is their accidental masterpiece and their greatest, tho.
Invisible Sun is their best song desu
Pretty good for a CIA culture creation project.
The Police are just one of those bands (along with CCR and Cheap Trick) that are too good to outright hate but aren't "serious" enough to be cool
This or Tea In The Sahara
It took me ages to realize those were faces.
Outlandous = Zenyatta > Reggatta > Ghost > Synchronicity
yes
Walking on The Moon was the pinnacle of early Police.
Listen to Next to You and Tea In The Sahara back to back and you'll understand why The Police broke up after Synchronicity. It's even more insane when you realize that they were recorded 5-6 years apart.
Has there ever been another band this side of The Beatles or Talk Talk that underwent so much musical growth in so few years?
The 2nd half of Synchronicity>Regatta=Zenyatta>Ghost>Outlandos>The 1st half of Synchronicity
It helps that creative control of the band shifted. Meanwhile Talk Talk was Hollis the whole way from Its My Life to Laughing Stock and changed even more drastically.
Patrician band
Psuedo reggae vocals from a blonde northener, bar setting guitar melodies and rhythms, very unusual but on point drumming style.
It makes sense when you realize how little musical training Hollis had before starting the band. Once he knew what he was doing in the recording studio, he went off like a rocket in terms of his songwriting.
That said, Sting is stupidly underrated as a songwriter and his only mistake was leaving The Police, as he did his best work with the rest of the band to hold him in check.
You forgot the bass work and the god-tier production and overall mastery of the sonic atmosphere from Regatta onwards.
>he did his best work with the rest of the band to hold him in check.
He did some great stuff solo. He plays the guitar like a beast.
>fragile
His solo albums are a mix of half-finished ideas and god-tier culminations of every he was setting out to do. If he worked a little bit more on editing and polishing it, his solo work would be held in the same regard as Peter Gabriel's.
>look up Police band CIA
>Stewart Copeland’s dad was a spook involved in Mideast coups
>all his brothers were in the music industry and considered key figures in the new wave genre
I’m just getting over The Doors and Grateful Dead being spooks and now you lay THIS SHIT on me??
Is there any form of entertainment that isn’t a government constructed social manipulation?
Prince from 84-88
Remember that time sting made an album where he performed loads of some medieval guys music?
m.youtube.com
>do you also remember that time he made a crossover album with fucking shaggy
why do you care though
why the fuck would the CIA care about music
Dowland was Renaissance
>dude who cares if music if a govt psyop that conditions the populace to act in a manner conducive to their control and manipulation
