(and that Franz Ferdinand song)

Bob Dylan

Led Zepplin

When I heard Black Mountain Side, my boss showed me where Jimmy Page got it from, along with other along with other examples. That man was fucking ruthless in his plagiarism

Muse

I like them because the very sight of them makes the entirety of Reddit seethe worse than a dog with rabies

How? I thought Reddit was normie.

Is this sleep? Who did they rip off?I thought reddit loved these guys. Or at least they did up until it was mainstream to hate them.

Sabbath.
Granted, all stoner metal sounds kinda the same but Sleep are at least recognizable. They didn't rip-off per se rather they just have endless Sabbath riff worship

they're true artists and legends man what are you talking about?

remember when Matt Pike was skinny?

and had dreads

>that time he stole and copyrighted an old negro spiritual that literally anyone could have copyrighted in the half century since it was created but nobody did because they wanted it to belong to everybody to sing

And sometires wore a shirt during their gigs

The Velvet Underground

cultural appropriation

Not really. Their influences are diverse and they blend them into a cohesive original sound very well:

>Buddy Holly
>Bo Diddley
>Bob Dylan
>Rolling Stones
>Stax
>Ornette Coleman
>Cecil Taylor
>La Monte Young
>doo wop
>Nuggets primitive garage rock

This

imagine being this wrong

name one stoner metal band who don't have Sabbath riffs

when brainlets cite zeppelin as stealing their material when their ripped material is some of the worst in their discography

its hard to create something new when your knowledge of guitar playing doesnt go beyond power chords

still good though

The entirety of motown

What other bands were being ripped off by Motown artists?

Nirvana is just a blander, poppier version of Pixies without the good lyrics or any edge what so ever.

Weezer is Kiss + the Cars + the Beach Boys

this post is so dumb it raised my self esteem

Reddit hates white people playing blues now

half of those dont match and the other half can be attributed to any fucking band randomly using a similar melody, a lot of those "rip offs" are immensely popular songs that they likely copied by accident, just due to the way the human mind works. It would be strange if they never made a song that sort of kinda sounded like another song by a different artist, anyway.

If modernized rip-offs count, then Gojira, since their whole shtick is modernizing Domination-era Morbid Angel.

Pixies is just a blander, poppier version of The Gun Club without the good lyrics or any edge what so ever.

/thread

Pixies are a Dinosaur Jr. ripoff.
