I understand that Scaruffi partly rates albums based on how innovative and/or influential they were, and not only just how HE himself personally feels about the album, but fuck, I feel that every legitimate music fan is allowed to call an album a 10/10 if he/she feels that strongly about it.

It's almost as if whenever he rates an album, he believes that he's doing it on the behalf of the entire western music community, like he's the goddamn pope delivering a papal bull or something.

Seems pretty silly if you ask me, considering that no matter how "objective" he'll try to be in terms of how he rates his albums, he'll never escape the fact that naturally (as a human), you're going to have a subjective bias towards/against certain types of albums no matter what. That's something that no person could ever get around, because that's just how human nature works.

There is a difference between someone mostly listening to "popular" albims and someone mostly listening to Scaruffi/Fantano-core albums. Even if no-ones taste can truly be original, copying your taste from one person is just limiting no matter how patrician they might be.
