good review, 10/10. Also, I love Delirium, such a lovely song. Your voice fits perfectly the tune, and also props for the production on the track, since a lot of guitar music here is too lo fi and ends up sounding a bit bad. That guitar riff is super catchy but simple, it works so well. Also the raspy vocals are super well done. Reminds me a bit of soundgarden, maybe there's an influence there? Anyway, great song user

absolute recc stuff here. amazing chord progression and lyrics. mandatory check out. listened to shadow boxing. beautiful and eerie, nice guitar sound. also you're from the same town as Phil Elverum if I'm not mistaken? not really my style but I'm sure a lot of people here would love it. check out if you're into dark shoegaze/ambient/IDM stuff! always reccing this. great guy
Speaking from a music marketing perspective the intro is a little long. I've found people will usually skip after 30 seconds unless you've grabbed them already. That being said I feel artistically it works and can't blame you for it because I did the same thing with multiple songs. Dig the trippy guitars at the end.
Listening to your stuff. Hard not to move to. That rollercoaster scream into the synths are a really neat touch. The synth tones are all really nice and have great impact. Smooth
Yeah, I'm pretty happy with what he had to say. I love Soundgarden. Grunge in general has had a big influence on me.
Easton James
Man this is so lush. Amazing guitar sound, puts me in a good mood. I'm loving this. Great vocals as well. Vaguely reminds me of Attic Abasement but you have your own thing going on. And yeah right now I'm living near downtown Olympia
loving this. love the lo-fi guitar tone. vocals are solid. what's your bass setup? the tone is great.
too much noise and way too much bass. interesting stuff though but not really my type of music
the textures are pretty cool. i'm not really into shoegaze/edm so not really sure what to make of this overall
this is great. i love the stereo guitars at ~1:40. only criticism is the drums are too weak in the mix. i'd put a comp on the drum bus and push them a bit more
fantastic production. really cool arrangement. everything works together so smoothly.
I've just got an epiphone thunderbird I plug straight into my interface my guy. BTW love the spacey vibe on that first song. I'd look into EQing out some of the messier bass frequencies tho
Your vocals are dope during the verses but kinda lose their aggression during the verses though imo, this is neat though keep it up
Listened to the work in progress. Really cool guitar melodies off the bat they had me hooked, kind reminded me of The Cult for some reason. Wasn’t expected the modern trappy drums but they worked well, was pleasantly surprised. Cool stuff
Intense! Dark and kind of fun at the same time, I like it.
Holy crap, this is what I expect from the finnish. Really heavy! The spoken parts really fit well, and I like how it turns more melodic towards the middle
soundcloud.com/altrock3000 new song, "Periscope" I should probably rec a 2nd take of it one of these days - with a solo and proper-like singing - in case it's not hifi enough to share though.
thanks for the feedback! love your sound really much, instantly reminded me of Nashville Skyline album by Dylan, but with a better voice. check this out!
Connor Baker
Big rec to this guy, nostalgic as fuck
Ethan Clark
really dig the vocals. guitar is super pretty and you got a real nice voice. good stuff. high pitched synth and vocals in the end are my favourite part.
drums hit perfect. you got a real soundscape here. bit iffy on the vocals and flow but nonetheless cool song
this is so good wow. atmosphere on 10. really envious of how grand and lush everything comes together. some of the coolest stuff ive stumbled upon browsing mu
this is insane. liked and followed. that switchup killed me. good stuff
real tron/daft punk vibes. dont mean no respect either this is fucking amazing. great use of tension and anticipation in the mix especially near the end and in the beginning.
really dig the finished track. great balance between both synthetic and natural sounds in the mix. the breakdown around 1:50 works nice especially w the lead that sits in the back. transitions into the next portion seamlessly. work in progress is cool too. i like the drums a lot. guitar work is A1 for sure. keep it up. 1:25 to end is crazy.
tough as fuck. drums are phenomenal. really dig the pad you used too. all together good song. maybe a little more variance in progression and leads (but thats rly just personal pref)
funky as fuck. mix and arrangement goes dumb. getting parliament vibes. not crazy about the voice tho. sorry aha
this is amazing. didnt know i needed something like this in my life lol. reminds me of the brian jonestown massacre in the best way possible. love the vocals too man you went off. big follow for sure.
absolutely insane. very emotional. rainy day shit for sure. have you ever attempted to score film? seems like you would definitely have a knack for it. cheers

I give feedback in every thread but never get anything in return. I assume this is the same for everyone else.

Like a gayer less talented elvis costello. But only in looks.
Aaron Torres
not really a fan sorry. beat kinda boring flows are eh
This is the shit right here. Super cool stuff Did you link this in the /iihf/ thread? Anyway, its very comfy and I like it This is awesome dude, keep it up
Man, I was planning on making music just like this. It reminds me of juke/footwork with the 808 kit but also like Walter Wanderley's Rainforest.
Very cool. I run a label if you're interested in producing a release with us. We generally do cassettes and just had our first LP release via Qrates this year.

Sorry I forgot to give fb. I really like how this reminds me of Ballad of Gay Tony and similar beatz. Also the song is nice in itself and the vocals are pretty cool.
I'm the SHENZHEN GLOBAL guy addressing the Swedish guy. Oops.
Luis Taylor
super solid as always. the synth stuff going on in the background is really cool, really helps the song stay interesting. the bah bah bah part rules also
reccin these fellers
really weird unique vocals, i like it a lot. you are obviously super comfortable with your voice and it shows. really great track
idk why there are two of these threads up but ill post this again
[YouTube] MIDI Ball 6 - Death Grips Takyon Live on the Ball (embed)
Alright so I made this video 2 and a half years ago when all I cared about in life was my art and making this ball thing.
Since April of 2018 I literally have not made a new song, I have ZERO interest in anything other than getting a real career and getting a wife and having children. I feel bad because my video recently got put in Youtube Recommended and now people want me to upload again. wtf am I supposed to do bros
thanks! i've had my run with electronic stuff, i'll probably circle back and marry the two sounds eventually. really loving this symphony thing. sounds a lot like the theme music for a peaceful harvest moon sort of game. i know i was a little irritated always hearing "it sounds like video game music!" for all my synth use, nut i think the comparison is unavoidable. the structure is really great here, love the returning theme and little diddly sections that spin off on their own tangents before coming back to the theme. excellent job
Brody Robinson
thanks for the feedback, glad you liked it. I guess video game music is my biggest influence, so I'll never be able to disguise it. I'm kinda desperate because of the mix though, the longer the piece is and the more instruments you have the more confusing it gets.I have two other movements almost done that I like much more because it's all clearer
yeah i agree, especially since i switched to using acoustic instruments it gets difficult to keep track of what all is happening, probably why most of my songs are
Austin Fisher
thanks for listening,I like the allegretto best, too. I think melodies can stand out when they are built coherently... In my luckiest hours I achieve it by building everything from one idea, reversing it, turning it around, augmenting it, reharmonizing it etc...

Anyone got a beatstars referral code or something I can use? About to buy a membership, might as well help my boys
Here's the NEW song I just finished titled "WarmMilk" It's a FREE DOWNLOAD so go balls to the wall with it my kids. and don't worry, I'm about to help out right now!
Who misses Dubbi? _________________________________________________________________________________________________
Bro, "lofi" isn't a safeword to avoid criticism on EQing and mastering. It's not just to clean up sound quality, EQ is to make space for all the elements to fit together. If multiple elements of a mix occupy similar frequency ranges and attempt to fit into the same space, the result will often sound muddy, and basically just a MESS, it doesn't sound "indie" or whatever you shmucks say its like, its just embarrasing.
I can really hear my influence on this!
Hmmm...... man your link is always weird...
SKIP
Not bad overall, but bro heres a tip for getting your guitars to actually sound heavy: Turn knobs marked "gain" or "overdrive" all the way up. Turn other volume knobs down to get the loudness you want. Once you've proved you can get heavy distortion, dial things back to find the tone you want. Focus on being LOUD!! Some amps won't distort at low volumes, mainly because that's dumb as all hell LOL. If yours is like this, either just play loud or give up.
big RECs, I've been crafting these threads great lately.
If there's a beat it ISN'T Ambient! Ambient can't have a beat bro.... Do your research and respect Eno!
Your beats are a big generic and I recognize the Samples. the sample sounds like it was recorded to a 15ips tape machine with a live band going straight through a console, and the drums are coming from a drum machine, synth, or stock DAW drum samples, chances are the context won’t make sense, you should always focus on that crispy sound quality bro. In my mind I’m thinking “ok, what can I do to make these drums sound better, like they BUMP to the sample, but still stick out and hit hard?” Bro... Think about it like this, it might mean you have to be processing to the sample, or processing to the drums, or both. And generally needssome experimentation to make it BOOM in the speaker. And also mmatching the space is super key. This isn’t easy, it takes a really ADVANCED ear like mine. But if you can train yourself to listen to the ambience in the sample and recreate that ambience around the drums, but don't get confused. You follow? Next turn up the EQ low end (bass) and ta-da you're better.
You need NEED to fix your URL, no one will take you seriously with a "user________" URL, get your name in there bro.
You need to Learn how to boost your bass. I can help you out quite a bit if you ask, but for now what you need to focus on is Making great bass patches. to make a beginner bass, get a defult patch in Harmor, turn the low-pass on A to 10% and 0% on B, and then turn the Sub up on both A and B, next turn on some slight distortion and then EQ the sub in the mixer up all the way.

Hey pool View here, thank you for the feedback on the shitty samples, I didn’t know they were out of place but I totally know what you mean, I never throw any eq on them. I got all my drums from searching “trap drum kit” on google and downloaded the first pack that came up lol. Will work on that in the future!
A friend asked me to write some music for taiko drums, so I tried taking a swing at it. Don't exactly think I'm anywhere close to authentic though, haha. I typically write soundtrack stuff, so this is one of my few pieces that doesn't have another IP attached to it. I just bounced this a few hours ago, so I might end up coming back to this tomorrow and realizing it's terribly mixed, lol.
Cool sound design! I'm a little conflicted on your use of panning, however. It might just be my ears, but I feel like everything was pushed a little too far to the right for about half the tune. That could get kinda grating on repeat listens.
Fucking siiiick drop after the intro. Killer track in general. If I were to have one critique, I felt like the ending could've led to something a bit more exciting than a fade-out. Whole tune seemed to be building to a big crescendo. Even maybe like a scream, or something, could've been used? You incorporated these soundbites and vocal elements throughout, so it could've been cool to see you utilize that as a capstone.
I listened to the first 2 tracks. I liked the second one more. It's vaguely creepy and dark but soothing.
I feel like putting in something lower end would help fill the track out a bit more. I don't really hear any bass
I'm just gonna comment on soundcloud
Ryan Price
super fucking vibey, love it
love it
really like your style.
Can't really critique the subject matter but you need to take care of all that white noise. Potentially a new microphone or messing with settings in your recording software.
recc, good vibe to the music. Deserves a lot more listeners. Have you ever tried to perform live for people? Something is happening here, but I haven't quite figured it out. I don't like the why should girls be afraid track, just didn't seem very.. serious? (for lack of a better term) just seemed kind of thrown around. The sound of Thirsty is a lot better imo, but I'm still not entirely sure if I like it. Could be neat. The change at 3:00 is good. I want more sounds in this, but the texture is bright and nice. I think you should try making this unique in some way. It sounds pretty and nice, but I don't really have a draw into the track besides that. Try singing or rapping or screaming or something. Solo an instrument over it. idk.
>recc, good vibe to the music. Deserves a lot more listeners. Have you ever tried to perform live for people? thank you! i've only played live once. i dressed up like a wizard and played on an intersection with lots of foot traffic for a few hours with only my mandolin, voice, and kazoo. i also play semi regularly online for some good folks but i keep that pretty anonymous because i'm not consistently good. otherwise i am preparing a set to play on the street with some pals as some kind of performance, but we have a decent way to go before that'll be ready. i listened to your song, and i may have heard it before but can't remember because i'm a few cheap drinks deep right now. i like it, it's very somber. the melodic guitar parts are really nice, but i think the vocals are a bit too drowned out. i think a little EQ work could do well to let the vocals shine with the rest of the band, it sounds like right now they're competing for the same spot in the mix. great vibe though.
don't know what genre it is. was describes as such by crumbling wall records: "Somber and dark electronic music that creeps along quietly and eerily, but occasionally swells into violent walls of sound."
I'll throw a recc for this stuff. Kinda old time feel. It's refreshing and different.
This is super chill. Keep it up man
Pretty good, but you can do better. I'd try Improving your stuff by speeding it up. Noone listens to "downtempo" anymore. People want something actually stimulating. Also Tibetan throat singing isn't rap, bro. How are people gonna find you if you don't even tag correctly? It's really quiet you can fix that by turning the gain up all the way before recording then boosting the decibels on the track after recording.

Hello, this is me: In case you want to return the feedback.
Sorry for not giving it yesterday but had no time. Trying to listen to everyone now :)
Really great, a fun listen. Recommended!
Loved the atmosphere and the sounds but I felt that it was building up without really going anywhere. Disappointed in that :(
Beats are cool, not a big fan of the lyrics
Definitely one of my faves so far. Mixing is a bit weird sometimes (with the drums) but the atmosphere and the variations are really good
Really great! Good job. Felt a bit empty sometimes tho, adding some layers could be great imho
Loved it, where are the vocals tho? :( Would've been amazing with them
Nice atmosphere, not a big fan of the voice sample
Amazing value and production. Not a big fan of the voice but I appreciate the work.
This is fun to listen!
A bit too slow for my taste but cool aesthetics!
Reminds me of American football and TTNG. I've listened only to the YouTube track so I might be wrong, but that one had great ambiance but it was definitely too long without enough variation to keep me fully invested.
I will do more in a bit, aiming to do every album ITT!
Jack James
Just listened to this. Very nice man, like ASMR raping my ears. Track 3 scared me a bit but overall enjoyable.
I dig the vocal cuts and clicks. Could potentially work out to this music.
Dungeon Synth/Noise? Pretty original combo. Maybe try reach out to some DS labels. Overall enjoyable.
