Post an album you think is unique, and other anons prove you wrong.
I’ll start

Any album that fits into a genre isn't really unique.
Unless you consider experimental music a genre and it's the only fitting one.
this almost makes the cut as genuinely unqiue, but it has traces of the smiths, red house painters, and joy division.
This is literally just Godspeed but heavier
eh, I guess so
mewithoutYou - Brother, Sister
i mean i can definitely hear ariel pink in this
Pic related has a lot of genre variance while still maintaing a really specific nerd rap sound: negrogalacticus.bandcamp.com
You'd probably be into Blue Sky Black Death's work. They're a production duo and have a fucking amazing discography that's still continuing.
This is sorta similar to some of the shit on ISWYD, although ISWYD is a level of grandiosity that I haven't quite found from another hip hop album youtube.com
It's a modernized version of My Dad Is Dead - ...And He's Not Gonna Take It Anymore
This shit is fucking crazy
Thanks for the rec.
the mars volta
Don't say the Berlin trilogy
Jane's Addiction had a couple unique albums
Mike Patton's other work. Particlularly Faith No More - King For A Day... Fool For A Lifetime
has Yea Forums always been a lazy posting shit hole
mariachi slipknot
Seefeel's Quique has a similar vibe to it
Sounds like Hot Topic

Excluding his other albums, obviously.
mr bunghole....uhuuhuhuhuhu - uhuhuu I NEED TP FOR MY PEE PEE (uhuhuhuhhuahau)
its just my bloody valentine with blastbeats
I'm aware of the obvious influences, but I haven't really heard an album that sounds like it.
I don't personally enjoy Fishmans, but Long Season, and that one where they ate pointing at the sky are pretty similar. Also Stereolab has a couple albums that you could say give a similar vibe. It may sound wierd, because sonically they are very different but Bad Moon Rising's minimalism and repetition kind of remind me of it as well.
I would also really like to hear an album that is similar.
This one is really hard and I don't think anything sounds that much like it, but you should check out Mercury Rev's Yerself is Steam and Boces if you haven't. I guess The Flaming Lips as well, but I assume you're already familiar with them.
where in particular do you hear the smiths in there?
You just answered it yourself
faith no more is nothing like bungle the fuck
