Lets all be honest. Smile is pretty shite. Its just overhyped because people so wanted to be that album that masterpiece followed up pet sounds and competed with the beatles. But its largely shite. Theres an album in there somewhere but it was never found.

Cringe

They only had one

That's the joke.

Bet you cant even name one good song from it off the top of your head.

Wtf are you talking about? It has loads of memorable songs on it

Overhyped/rated maybe, but it's still really solid

>loads of memorable songs
>hasnt named one

Interpol

ott pls go

Actually, the Pistols are 2-for-2.

Never Mind the Bollocks is a seminal punk album. More so for the UK and Europe than the US. And The Great Rock and Roll Swindle is a freaking adventure in sound. So unlike the homogeneous NMTB. If you don't like Swindle, you either don't like punk, 70s music, or the Sex Pistols. And you don't have a sense of humor. Because that's what's at the heart of Swindle. This idea that the band was living a lie.

Terrible reviews.

The state of zoomers..

And by "terrible", you mean "accurate", right?

I haven't listened to all of the later ones that closely, but I think WILD HONEY is better than you are giving it credit for.

most of these should be knocked down by atleast a letter and a half

Its 20 minutes long ffs and still has filler in it while its best song isnt even written by them and the productions terrible it.

Bleach and In utero were better in literally every way

Little Deuce Cup is not any where close to an A lol

change my mind

They have 8 good albums

Holland is very underrated. As you said its one of their most progressive and adventurous albums, and I think it proved that the band still had a lot of ambition even without Brian at the helm. They also don't get enough credit for basically abandoning their classic vocal-heavy style on that album and reemerging as a contemporary soft rock act.

I'd downgrade Shut Down 2 just because that one spoken-word track where Mike and Brian make fun of each other may have accidentally inspired a generation of rap skits.

Is their other work worth a listen? I've only heard pic related and really enjoyed it

Yea it is. First album is shit though. Daisy and Science Fiction Are very good.

everything from Today! to Love You is good

Is that the one with kokomo on it? fave song. A++

They had 4 good singles. Everything else they did was straight garbage.

>1980 - Keepin' The Summer Alive - The last decent LP of theirs FOR A LONG TIME. A-

Imagine actually thinking this

Attached: 1521423842986.jpg (300x298, 22K)

pedestrain as fuck. I bet you graded based on how many "catchy" songs there were

>progressive
I like the album but it wasnt progressive at all outside of Als spoken word thing and Brians weird EP. Holland and So Tough were very standard rock at the time. very un Beach Boy like albums but not progressive

I agree, smile. Pet sounds is overated
