Memes aside... What the fuck is actually going on that keeps making these prices increase? Is this just the norm now? Is this now the new norm for gas prices, if not even more? What the fuck???

Gas companies are the devil
Biden is personally setting them higher and higher to destroy the middle class.
Shit's almost five bucks a gallon here. Costs like 100 bucks to fill my Tacoma. It's fucking ridiculous.
its joe biden and friends' war
gas companies artificially inflating prices then blaming it on ukraine
it still cost me zero dolars to fill my huge red truck
cuz I got rich off of SHIB TOKEN
rite now
yep
orange man bad
>I got rich off of craptocurrency
Larp/10
>I'm an autist sitting in Mom's basement wondering what it's like to have a driver's license.
Supply and demand. Welcome to the free market.
Less supply, clearing price goes up. Pretty much the first thing you learn in any econ class.
I wanna focus in on the depressing question op had. It's getting to me the more I think about that daily.
>is this just the norm now?
Prices keep rising and rising little by little, they STARTED to go down, but now are right back up again and rising. What are we supposed to do? It costs me close to a hundred bucks a week to fill my tank, and I barely clear 300 a week after taxes and deducts. How am I supposed to live like this? This is unsustainable for me. Is this just how it is now? How is going to be?
satanbux is the only option for u, unless u wanna work 25 hours a day for a empty fridge at the end of the day

While supply and demand does affect it some, it's mostly the oil companies setting a price stupid high to regain profit they lost during the pandemic. Gas hit negative $45 a barrel and prices were 99 cents. Between oil companies being dick bags, supply and demand ramping up because we're going out more and bad political policy's before and during the Biden administration is what's caused this issue it not just one individual or government or company
The truth?
Global power players want their serfs back, so they are going to squeeze you until you learn to live with fewer luxuries.
It won't end unless you murder them.
Fuckin' ESL as fuck. lol
The nukes are scheduled in the fall at some point cuz u know. satan an all... harvest festival
simpsoms did it... mw2, shows, tv, movies falout4 always in fall
why do you need gas for?
move to electric already boomer lmfao
shieeeeeeet
this post brought to you by the hydro gang
That whole mass-move over to electric vehicle sham is never getting off of the ground. Just so you know.
There won't be any nukes.
If the nukes fall, then Soros and pals don't get their luxuries.
Bunkers run out of supplies. They need a functional transportation/production network.
You're thinking like an honest man.
Their superweapons are not nukes, but psychological programming
Every day Joe Biden wakes up and makes a phone call to the gas guy and he says "make it cost more"
jk, every day he wakes up and libs around until the gas price goes up on its own because democrats are retarded
jk again, neither of the US parties are prepared to do anything other than slowly react to whatever they're currently getting screeched at the hardest for doing/not doing. republican "leadership" and democrat "leadership" are both sides of the same ineffectual chocolate coin. Gas prices aren't even the tiniest tip of the gigantic iceberg of hog shit that they're both about to fuck up if we don't do something to break up the rich kids' club that is US politics.
they did it on the simpsons
/,
simpsons did it
Yea Forums used to be a place where you could test fire trolling maneuvers, tell lies, post porn, and also talk about literally anything. Now it's just a place for porn and shitposting (and not even the fun kind)
This user gets it. Too bad so many people have so little going on in their lives that they derive meaning from "winning" the political sports game. "We may be losing our country but at least you're offended HAHAHAHAHA"
Part supply and demand, part price hike, part 40%-70% tax rate based on state or federal conditions.
This, at least for me, and at least until the electricity used to charge vehicles comes from somewhere other that just burning more fossil fuels
What makes you think rising gas prices are a US problem, you sheltered fuck?
You dumbasses. It has maybe a 3% to do with supply and demand. The cost for the same fuel we've been using has risen from $1.75 to $4 higher in the last 4 months. The godamn US population didn't increase 35-60%!!?? The fuck do you think this bloat demand is coming from???
You voted for democrats. This is how they run the economy. Deal with it.
Vote for Democrats. This is what you get.
Welcome to the real world
You want the government to save your gas prices? Commie faggot
Same shit happened 6 or 7 years ago. Gas was sky high for about 5 months, then it plummeted. It'll happen here, too, just wade it out. Carpool. Ride a bike. Survive.
A) Most people can't afford a $30,000-$60,000 car.
B) Electric cars are not particularly suited to long distance driving, since supercharge stations are rare.
C) Electric cars do not have an appreciably positive impact on climate due to how we predominantly generate electricity.
D) If we moved our primary power generation over to wind and solar, the demands of an electric vehicle transition would immediately overwhelm it.
E) Solar and Wind aren't as neutral for the environment as you might be led to believe.
If you support electric vehicles as a matter of environmentalism, then you should support nuclear power. It's the only way it will work.
How much longer until we french revolution the oil companies? There has got to be SOMEONE who has nothing to lose.
it may be a sham, but it IS getting off the ground, cuz by law u won't drive a real car
...ever agan
or ur kids wont if ur EVILL Enough to even have kids in the first place
>Every day Joe Biden wakes up and makes a phone call to the gas guy and he says "make it cost more"
For a long time (primarily) American retarded people (i.e 95% of the population) unironically thought oil was an infinite resource and that new sources of oil would magically and randomly pop into existence from another dimension. Everyone in the whole world said that oil is a finite resource and that the price would inevitably increase as the cost of extraction goes up. Americans, being barely sentient, regurgitated the argument that oil has magical properties and that humanity will never ever run out. Now, 30 years later, it turns out that reality is not a meme based on Harry Potter, and things do not actually come into existence for no reason at all. Extracting oil has become more expensive even in spite of the hilariously costly subsidies to the oil companies, and the price will increase to (even more) ridiculous levels as extraction becomes even more expensive. There will be temporary bouts where prices drop as new oil sources are discovered, but the general trend will be upward forever. I'm only typing this because I'm high because with all probability, some drooling shit for brains will soon reiterate that this specific price hike is only a political ploy played to gain some kind of upper hand, and not an obvious consequence of hilariously simple natural laws.
Supplies have been limited due to international energy market concerns, and environmentally-minded government refusals to validate permits for siphoning, distribution, and workforce applications.
>high gas prices is when vote democrat
I drove a car today and i'll drive one tomorrow and the day after you stupid faggot
I am pro nuclear also
A D E are all true but I disagree on B and C since I am in Canada and in my area electricity is all from hydro power - and as far as I know we have good charging stations through most of the country
As a matter of relative localization it can work, but it's not particularly suitable if you were inclined to drive to, say, Mexico.
I support electric vehicles as a way of torturing brown kids in farawar countries like Elon Musk liove s to do
wit slave labornblood cobalt
What are the prices in your area? It’s been so fucked in New Zealand that the government had to lower the prices. We’re paying around 7usd per gallon after conversion.
ur rc car doesn't qualify as a car, libcuck

Wait... But I liked having a stable economy, energy independence and affordable food.
yeah this is the real answer op
Gas prices to hit record highs as oil companies post record profits.
>oil companies raping your wallet because "inflations"
seems pretty simple
there definitely would be a transition phase when it comes to where the energy comes from, but we all know that realistically, fossil fuels may not be used forever. Both because of currently finite sources of it but also because of its many impacts.
The impact of lithium batteries, mines, wind turbines etc. is, of course, also to be considered and is non negligible; but the course must be kept steady as we progressively optimize and refine the power system and grid until we are hopefully carbon neutral or even carbon negative
God this is fucking pathetic.
You guys don’t even make enough money to pay for GAS?!
The prices of gas have doubled.
Have profits doubled?
The retarded thing about "X company is posting record profits" is that companies almost ALWAYS post record profits when the economy is doing well, and usually those "record profits" are 2% higher than the last record.
A fine example of someone with shit for brains.
true dat
Probably not forever, unless we develop a system to synthesize them. That just furthers my point that nuclear is the optimal and environmentally conscious solution, despite the fact that we still have no means to address the waste products.
I drove my car into your mom's gaping vagina by accident
I'M SORRY OK
she was just out on the corner with her giant loose vagina and someone had even painted some traffic indications on her vaginal floor and walls
Fucking simp. What about transportation companies, delivery drivers, people that use that shit for work? Just tripled the overhead and all you can do is show your absolute ignorance of industry.
Yes.
This astonishing rise in gas prices has revealed one simple truth to me: I am a part of the problem, and I need to become part of the solution. I am paying what the market bears right now (in CA, $6.00+ per gallon). I need to shift toward alternative energy sooner rather than later. I drive a KIA, and it costs $65 to fill the tank. Fuck that!
That looks to me like the current price of gas is mostly reflective of the cost of crude oil. And it doesn't show the profit margins on that crude oil.
$1 per gallon increase is $200 billion more in profit.
Gasoline was $1.19 when covid hit.
So those billionaires that control politicians will make another $600,000,000,000 this year.
And you will take it in the ass like a good peasant.
>What the fuck is making gas prices rise?
The slogan vote blue no matter who
Remember gas prices were already climbing far before the war :^)
u can make a water engine and power ur house in an afternoon...... nobody gives a shit about this fag species
what if dady elon n friends decides to take u rhouse away and fine u????
fuck u
Gasoline hasn't been $1.19 since the 80s.
You're part of the problem alright, but not how you think. Liberals are trying to force you to green energy because it lines their pockets and you're just doing their bidding instead of voting them the fuck out. Technology hasn't caught up to renewables yet, give it 20 - 30 years maybe and we can transition safely.
Extracting oil has become expensive because governments are making it expensive, not because it's rare or difficult.
Simp for who?
Oh no The overhead, now bananas will be 6% more expensive waaahhh.
Just make more money dude, it’s not even that hard.
Gov regulation, wells tied up in court due to green fuck heads suing and price hikes. The government is pure shit.
>import 2/3 of their oil
>half of it comes from Russia
>help j*wkraine and push a Russian embrago
>hOw DiD tHiS hApPeN?
You're a fucking dumb shit. You probably drive to taco casa once a day and walk to the mailbox to get your welfare statement.
>the pandemic economy was stable
