If you had been less receptive I would've definitely pretended I don't like jam bands and was just trying to ruin someone's day but since you seem open minded:
en.wikipedia.org
Any of the live albums from this subsection of the GD discog wiki page EXCEPT "Dead Set," "Steal Your Face," and "Dylan & the Dead." These include "Live/Dead" (mostly long form improv over psych rock and garagey blues sounds), Europe '72 (mostly country rocky stuff with some of the long psych rock stuff interspersed), "Skull & Roses" (sort of in between the previous 2), Reckoning (acoustic country/folk stuff, probably the most accessible of the bunch), and "Without a Net" (later career so harder to describe out of context with the rest of their stuff, basically GD music with more electric keyboard sounds and a Branford Marsalis feature). It's not on that list because it wasn't released until years and years later, but the 5/8/77 Cornell show definitely needs to be on this list because its the perfect representation of that year, which most regard as their peak. (Not me though. If you're interested in furthur exploration look for a Dick's Picks release of a '74 show).
As much as many fans like to say otherwise, the Dead's studio stuff is worth your time. The best are Workingman's and American Beauty. Many have some filler, but all have at least a couple songs that are very very good and important to the dead's history....well, maybe not "Built to Last."
I know much less about other jam bands than the Dead, but I like Phish's "A Live One." They have a bunch of full show live releases on streaming, 11/17/97 is sort of their version of the Dead's 5/8/77, and 6/14/00 second set is a really unique sounding show filled with mellow funk grooves. If you don't think you can stomach their white boy funk sounds, something like 8/13/96 might be better.
Other recs: Max Creek's new release, Allmans, Tedeschi Trucks
