i added a big new server-side automarker to the finder so it doesn't rely on being handed threads by the sync tracker any more, a lot more marks but a lot less reliable in terms of whether it's actually a circlejerk or it just matched the regex

all my scripts are vanilla, except one line in frensync to send a different trip to NSR, everyting else is patched in after the fact, one for adding the patches, then an updated version of my old script kittun tools serving as the script console, which i was very happy to find still mostly ran after many years and needed minimal updating

vanilla X is so bloated with features it's difficult to find settings. god forbid you accidentally type outside a textbox, flip some unknown flag and now your shit is all fucked up with no obvious way to fix, I had to help vanon with this by reinstalling the plugin.
keep it simple keep it clean. just because you can add something doesnt mean you should. sometimes you have to know when to stop. etc

i mean in terms of bloat, all my stuff has image assets fully in the script encoded as base64 and most have a whole JS tripcode parser which requires an entire shiftJIS table
there are loads of alternative Xs you can choose from, or you could write your own minimal extension.
not many are still maintained tho i don't think. back in the olden days we like appchan X
my 8ch extension, ignoring the image assets and shift JIS table, is relatively terse, could probs edit that into a Yea Forums extension if you wanted

some things are due to me being dumb, like for example i think personaplus has 3 different methods for detecting the sync settings beinng opened and injecting cause i couldn't find one method that worked for everybody, so just did all of them
