i don't have one

How long do you believe you can go without internet?

what kind of a lame fucking question is that?
are you 12?
GTFO you little runt

It's a rhetorical question or a personal question?

Depends, did you just took time and reflected about it or you need an exterior input to form a thought?

I'm asking because sometimes we can't see that we are addicted to something until someone open up our eyes to it.

Seriously, how long can you be away from your phone?

Yes you can, if you're asking me personally- yes I can.
Most of my things I can just access with a laptop or computer. I don't call, usually message people. I think cellphones are a bad distraction when going outside; I would rather take into appreciation of my surroundings than waste my time browsing social media. I don't need to be constantly updated on what the world or my friends are doing 24/7. I need to distant myself to catch some air. Going to nature parks made me realize this.

Great isn't it? Sometimes it's seems to me that people are losing contact with reality cause they're so addicted to social media and online interaction that they even forgot that there is a exterior world, nothing bothers me more than trying to talk with someone and the person don't take his eyes of the phone.

Even so I admit that i'm internet addicted but only because I've nothing else to do, literally nothing. I could go outside and walk? Yeah, but what would be the point in doing such a thing?

I can't live without it and i know I'm addicted to it.
Sometimes at work while I'm going to take a coffee i realize i left my phone on the desk and i have to go back and take it even if it is safe to leave it 'cause i can see it from the coffee machine.
But I'm not addicted to social, i had a phone for 20years now and i just depend on it.

what a stupid fucking question

Isn't curious? Tecnology became so natural into our lives that we consider it a must, and everyday things get even more connected to it making humans completly depends on it.

Hungry? An app. Need a ride? An app. Want to fuck? An app. There is basically an app for everything you can possibily imagine and all I can think about it is "holy shit my cellphone can basically keeps my entire life, where I went, what I ate, who i've a conversation, how long it last, how many people i've fucked" seriously.

that's because you're gay

How that's a problem?

Am I? Shit. Next time i'll go for grinder instead of tinder and watch people collect my data in real time but with guys this time.

Yea, I don't use it much anyway, I only use it to track my shitty habits
It's nice to check train departures on the go, and listen to some sweet tunes
But other than that, I don't really use it

Your bank knows your password to your bank account but you trust they will not share that with others, right? Right, but what if they do?

That's good, there is in fact a lot of useful apps and things on a phone that makes people life easier and that's the catch I guess.

My bank doesn't need my password to access the money i have on their account.
But i trust them, like a trust every app i installed cause before using an app/service/whatever i have to give important informations about me i read and search about that specific app/service and other similar and decide which one to use and what giving them depending on how much i can trust them.
I know I'm a bit paranoic, but i work in IT and i know the importance of those things, and data security

Sure, so one day your trusted company receives a call from someone that works on sillicon valley.

Are you familiar with the concept of the fourth wall?

I much preferred life when they just made calls and sent simple texts. In a properly led world, all forms of social media would be banned on them. They are great for sending pictures, GPS, music and quick internet searches though.

Yeah, things has gotten complicated didn't them?

Im asdicted to it becuase it is a portal to information. Im a very curious purpose, and I actively educate myself day to say with this.
Before my first phone back in 2009(I was 19 ) I heavily relied on local libraries for any of my info mining, I also have a strong imagination and reading took a lot of my time. i got my first decent Android in 2012, and Its been apart of life since then.

Im usually conservative about a lot of things, but I really support all the vast technologies we come up with, its only logical and it fascinates me.

Yeah, I've heard first from an IA a phrase, it was "Any kind of advanced tecnology is indistinguishable from magic" and a while after that i've heard Elon Musk using the same phrase, if i'm not wrong.

sure. I didnt even have a cell phone until like 10 years ago

This technology has been greatly abused by the powers that be. They track our every move and are mobile propaganda regurgitaters.

I have to agree, this is not even a "old good, new bad" reason, I wasn't even old enough to get these kind of phones. But I feel it allows me to focus more in life than get distracted with something else to take up my time. Im almost done with college and realized how much the internet has taken away from my life, so Im planning to cut off a lot of my interests and focus on what's important. The only thing I DON'T miss however is the numpad texting.

Yea man, there are definitely very useful aspects to "smart"phones

A shame that most of it is build around advertisements, and/or data harvesting for bettering of ads
Oh, ye, and lets not forget the whole mass surveillance part
I cannot fathom how people don't care about giving their private life away so freely, what a time to be alive

It's a camera, an encyclopedia, a map and a telephone, just wireless. But those things have been around forever.

oh yeah easy
>do it right now
fuck you

Numpad texting did suck ass.

Obviously, yes, but I'd hate it and would miss it severely every day.

nope tried it, was just surviving.

Are they even aware? That's the question, you know, if you want to get out of the Matrix, you have to take the redpill.

But never on a single gadget right?

>But never on a single gadget right?
Correct, it's also helpful how it's cheaper in comparison than having to buy each of those. Like you can just buy a shitty android phone and it will do the job still.

Certainly, "In 2021, smartphone vendors sold around 1.43 billion smartphones were sold worldwide." Google told me.

Its neat, because for a lot of us when we were kids all our favorite scifi famtasy movies people always had some magical pad, that would get all their info from just by touching it on the screen. Reminded me of stsr trek.

My daughter was born into a world with 5G cellphones and highspeed wireless internet, to her it feels as much a psrt of life as when we were born and refrigerators, color tvs, and VCR were just there already. Think about it.

And now, when I see scifi movies and their technologies and their cell phone is just a floating piece of glass, and im like, whats its power source? Is it a projection? Is it a streaming software? From a ISP?

Excatly how does anyonr get a phonr like like Tony Starks personal phone? He has that quantum tech and hes not sharing it with the world? Just walkes around with it like its no big deal.

Encyclopedias were expensive, but the rest are common items. And it could be said the public library served as the encyclopedia for anymore and be a social experience in the process. Smartphones are cursed devices. Plus, I paid $1.4K for my current phone and it's nearly a hundred a month for service. That seems way more expensive in the long run.

A tec enthusiast aren't you? Guess you can't miss something you never had, don't you think? If Tony tecnology were real it's probably would be in the hands of government and his avengers, everything to save to world I guess, heh.

Thing is, Starfleet didn't use their devices to brainwash half their people into worshiping Klingons and cutting their penises off.

That's the sad part, most people have a clue of what is going on, but they don't really care about that
They are busy caring about what to buy next, and/or other rather trivial things in life
Oh well, atleast we are heading directly into the dystopian future we all apparently secretely want

kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

>Plus, I paid $1.4K for my current phone and it's nearly a hundred a month for service. That seems way more expensive in the long run.
If I recall my parents, pretty sure service has always been expensive- at least now you're getting more for your bucks. Also $1.4k for a phone, unless you're referring to the total amount you've paid so far; that's ridiculous, I only paid $300 for my iPhone 7, it's enough for me. But Im guessing they caught you by giving a limited selection to pick from.

I'd throw that shit out the window without a second thought if it wasn't for some few perks it has.

Oh, put in the middle of the times square a projection passing simple things like name, user on social media, and what kind of porn do they watch to everybody see and you will realize very quickly that people do care about it, they are just deceived from an intentional fog.

Fuck yeah I hate phones. I only use one because of job and family

We used to pay by the fucking minute for cell service. It could creep up on you really badly. I could get any phone I wanted, I just like Notes. I usually get one every 3-4th gen, last was a 5.

Haha, yea, surveillance camera man is a great example of that as well
We are being tracked from pretty much every thought to every step we take, and there are cameras everywhere in public
But some random guy recording you makes you feel that your privacy is being invaded

I mean, my god, they sure tricked us, we barely noticed it!
We don't even care that we no longer have any privacy lol
Keep an eye on how our cash will be completely digitalized so that they can track that too, it's just around the corner

Yeah but who cares? Let's order pizza and watch some netflix.

Hell yea man!
Ain't nothing else to do, we're in too deep now

Attached: 1624848434774.gif (360x240, 1.98M)

>we barely noticed it!
I noticed it the second they were putting AOL CDs in happy meals, poptart boxes, newspapers... They are also how google maps shows traffic backups, they can see each and every phone by satellite and if a bunch are stopped, that's a jam. I even have it tell me there's a breakdown ahead on the highway sometimes. I feel bad because I was definitely one of the people that were mad for the internet and smartphones at first. I feel like I helped betray humanity. FUCK

>but who cares?
We all should, it's falling apart.

Nah, did you watch Altered Carbon? Great serie.

I got rid of netflix ages ago.

Huge mistake, you need to be comfortable in a life were you receive quick doses of dopamine and a strict life that keeps you focused on things that don't really matter, only in this scenario you'll be numb enough to not question or worse realize that something is wrong.

Go back to your netflix account now!

I sometimes really do consider lobotomizing myself.

It's seems to be easier be like everyone else, right?

Yea, some noticed it, some tried to warn us, and god bless those who are still trying to this day to inform the public and fix it
It's been so depressing to see how the internet developed haha, the magic of it is almost all gone
Atleast we still have a fraction of it on this shitty website
If it makes you feel any better, we all betrayed each other, we're all in this together now

S1 was pretty good, a bit cheesy now and then, but I still liked it

i already am

Yes, but in today's society if you don't have a phone you are basically throwing out a basic necessity to function within society. People will judge you as a weird outsider, and that will affect how they interact with you. Is that worth it just to not watch meme youtube videos or whatever?

Sure

hahaha never fails in making me laugh
