Now that the hype is all but over for this show let's talk real here.
Rick and Morty was a God awful show. I hated it when it came out, hated it when it got insanely popular, and I still hate it now.
Not to mention the fact that the quality of the show took a sharp dive after season 2. Does anybody even watch this garbage show anymore?
Haven't watched it but from the clips I sometimes see on youtube it seems pretty good.
Still watch every new season instantly. Have to agree though that the first seasons were definitely better.

I liked the show and still watch it when a new season comes out. It's quick paced and it has a perfect amount of nerd shit without being too out there for my taste.
I don't give a shit about the fandom because I'm not a terminally online autist that clings to every word strangers on the internet say, I just watch shows and if I like them I like them, I recommend them to my friends and look for similar shows. I don't even read reviews of shows or shit like that.
I'm just not smart enough to really appreciate a deep, thoughtful show like Rick and Morty. Maybe one day I'll go back for a re-watch once I've matured a bit and have a broader perspective on life.

It's been a long time since I've seen it because everyone was raving about it and a friend told me it kind of had Futurama vibes (it doesn't). How did the show go woke? I know they hired a bunch of women writers and I remember one of the seasons had a fuck ton of daddy issues written into the plot, but I dont remember wokism.

I think it was around the 3rd season, right? The show just starts getting into "social issues" a little too heavily and it's not even funny and doesn't make the show any better. Rick and Morty was a really good show with some interesting and funny ideas but then it got mega popular and to retain that popularity they tried to appeal to the masses. It's sad but it happens, always. Oh well. TV is not that important honestly.
