For me it’s imposible to pick a favorite metal album however I’d pick pic related because for me this album has some of the most beautiful guitars in the history of music. This album is Melodic Metalcore tho and probably the only album of this genre that I will ever enjoy.

Ylem by Dark Fortress comes to my mind first, maybe also The Formulas of Death by Tribulation or Hail of Bullet's first album.
Ylem just has it all - great sound and very varying songs that don't feel out of place at any time. Fast black metal stuff, "heavy metal" riffs (Satan Bled), an actual doom song with The Valley and Wraith is an absolute epic opus. Besides the instruments even the vocals are absolutely top notch.
