I've never followed the scene closely, hell I'm surprised it's still a thing at all, but back in the early 2010s it started out a just a bunch of weeb bedroom producers making shitposty speedcore/breakcore with anime samples and/or pitched up pop songs to get the chipmunk effect. they'd release their tracks with cover art and titles that reflect lolicon aesthetics and humor. It was a big joke back then, but apparently what qualifies as "lolicore" these days has expanded since; apparently you might not even need to have chipmunk vocals in your track anymore. idk, seems like it became another discord tranny genre.

I respectively posted a speedcore track, breakcore track, and mashcore track as examples of those genres without any lolicore influence. (though I'll admit lolicore and mashcore were always closely related) OP wanted recs so I made sure they were good ones too.

Listened to a bunch of Riajuu releases last month, not 100% lolicore but pretty nice either way, has a got a nice chill I dig.

Lolicore is just breakcore: Alvin and the Chipmunks edition. Also tends to not have the variation in aesthetic and sounds that comes with breakcore.
