rym says it's this one, but I don't really think so. What do you guys think?
What is the greatest album of all time?
This is not even top 500
Pet Sounds.
>This is not even top 500
Yes it fucking is user.
based
I would have to agree with you there
certainly better than OK Computer, but I would not consider this to be even close to being the greatest album of all time
I never really got into this one, might need to re-listen soon.
Piero Scaruffi, an esteemed Italian music critic, calls this album the greatest rock album of all times. Is he correct? Personally, I disagree quite a bit.
Why are you talking like a retard my man?
i think its a legitimate pick but desu famalam ITAOTS is the best album
guys, this is just a trick to have two "what is the best album ever" threads going on at the same time
I am in a mental distress at this point in time. If I can't find an album that everyone universally claims is the best, I will not be able to enjoy it. I speak in the manner of a retard because my mind has mutated into a state of mental retardation over my frustration. Though you cannot see over the Internet, I have also become physically retarded
Assuming you're talking about Neutral Milk Hotel's "In the Aeroplane Over the Sea", I would concede that this album is better than any album posted yet
I have not heard this album as of yet
I have seen any other thread resembling mine
American music critic Anthony Fantano, also known as theneedledrop on YouTube, claims this album may the greatest album of the last decade. Is this correct, and how does it rank all-time?
>inb4 wannabe indie normies come in with Americ An Football 1998 or In The Aeroplane Over The Sea
OP here. I just found the other thread with the same subject matter as mine. I highly encourage any and all that posted in this thread to give the other a post. So long and thanks for the (You)'s
well its not even the 3rd best death grips album and pic related shits on literally everything this decade
I always though Slint - Spiderland was one of the greatest albums of all time, would yall guys agree?
*AHEM*
Exile on Main Street
Not even king crimsons best album
ok pleb
Everything track on ITCOTCK is great except for the shit at the end of moonchild. Can’t say the same about discipline even though it’s still an amazing album
Fuck off
it's up there but ultimately isn't
probably within the top 1000
it's really up there
probably within the top 5000
he didnt say this one is the best album of the decade I dont think. If I had to guess (since he's coming out with top 100 of the 2010s at the end of the year) he's gonna pick YWGWYW or TPAB.
With regards to OP, I dont think its the best album of all time, no, but in all honesty I'd think it'd be in my top 50. Which is saying a lot since I also think In Rainbows is a better album than this.
Only viable candidate so far.
Unironically this. To a lot of people, Animals, WYWH, etc might be “better” albums, but DSOTM is a perfect album imo
There's already a thread about it right now
For a long time i hated it, everyone shoved it in their best album lists for so long that it made it annoying for me, 'til 3 years i listened to it... it was marvelous, yeah, it wasn't a cutting edge record not even for the year it was released, nor its lyrics were a "mature" or "serious" as everyone thinks a good album should have, it was just a balanced, memorable, and most of all, an entertaining experience. Yea Forums just give this "old man" a chance, stop being pretentious for 40 minutes, listen to it and then you will get why all list put Sgt. Peppers in the first place.
Sgt pepper would be a good EP but Revolver is the best Beatles Album
baseado e rivotrilado
no shit sherlock
Skip Mother Stands for Comfort and you have the most flawless album ever recorded
this is my second fav floyd album and i know great gig in the sky is a fucking meme filler track.
i you are like me this thread is pointless and not helpful because most of the albums/artists are completely obscure (to me) and are just some nobody's idiosyncratic favorite in some random genre i don't know anything about.
Tip: to make a thread like this even relevant, make it genre-specific/time-period-specific and people should post what kind of music it is/what it sounds like and what they like about it (example below).
pic related:
1973 psychedelic/progressive hard rock/blues/space rock.
a true example of what "album" should really mean (part of the reason i love it): it's a coherent, unified, thread of songs with repeating motifs throughout.
Completely original and ahead of it's time.
Awesome lyrics.

I can’t disagree.
I gotta go with Billy Joel's "Glass Houses". It's actually pretty good. Makes me feel. Out of anything on RYM, I truly think that this should be in the top 10.
>Billy Joel
>good
choose one
>choose one
nigga take an english class, how am I supposed to choose with only one option. Bitch. billy joel for life!
I prefer Abby Road, especially B side. There's just something about all those relatively short songs that are all connected
Christ, this board is so predictable.

god damn holy hell dude I want Al Jardine's pee pee to softly penatrate my bung hole while whispering "keep it clean, keep it clean..."
So many people seem incapable of differentiating "best" from "favourite". These are the only genuine possibilities in this thread:
hello, reddit
>its the best because all the normies agree on it
wrong, faggots
>pet Sounds
The most overrated album of all time. Listen to some more music, redditor
Unironically I Am Not a Human Being II by Lil Wayne. Funniest shit I’ve ever heard, which makes it the most enjoyable.
Without a doubt
Only 90s born queers like this
Whoever said Eversince, fuck yeah
