What is the most psychedelic album ever made?
What is the most psychedelic album ever made?
Other urls found in this thread:
probably YOTS.
Look no further
Today Ive been getting vertigo (bc of an ear infection??) Should i get stoned?
yeah
Obviously
Acid Mothers Temple And The Melting Paraiso U.F.O.* – Pink Lady Lemonade (You're From Inner Space)
lol
this is the truest to an actual psychedelic experience without that "woah trippy dude" shit.
>not Until The Quiet Comes
bluepilled, extremely cringe
r plus seven and thats a fucking fact
This is the only correct answer. The Books don't get enough recognition on here.
this. If there was one album I would encourage the listener to be on drugs to truly appreciate it would be this
Until the Quiet comes is good, I have it on vinyl and not YD, but the prompt isn't what's the best FlyLo album OP asked what's the most psychedelic. Until the Quiet Comes has too much consistency and commonality throughout it. Although again tbf you could just listen to Tiny Tortures on repeat through your entire trip and have a great experience
>silly noises and screaming
whoa, so true to the psych experience...
Definitely this one.
even with that logic, Cosmogramma would best the album you posted in terms of psychedelic feeling
probably this
That album was my banner on Facebook for a long time. Also still no. Maybe we have different definitions of what psychedelic is. But that album is too noisy, chaotic, and clear to be psychedelic to me. My idea of psychedelic is more of a blurry blending effect in the tone/sound
definitely one of their best
This. Pic related gives a similar vibe or some of Elaine Radigue's stuff
this is it folks
>Blurry bending effect
I personally get that a lot more with Until the Quet Comes than You're Dead. Yes You're Dead is more scattered but it's way too punchy to be psychedelic.
honestly...
Moonshake is my fav track
>that part half way through Beat Cop where the beat gets louder and that fuzzy BRRRRRRRRRZZZZZZZZZREWWWWWWWWW starts in the background
>silly
>screaming
there's way more to it than that. The noises aren't silly to me
to me, they're exciting and joyous. Same with the screaming.
AnCo is the definition of an outburst of positive energy that you can't contain
thank you for this, this is beautiful. Surprised to see an ambient album in a psych thread.
Abbey Road is psychedelic honestly. I remember listening to it on acid once and I heard John's voice from multiple points inside my head, like in a Kaleidoscope. Probably Piper at the Gates of Dawn is similar, but haven't heard it.
Of course those are entry level, but still not worth overlooking
Epic Acid Mothers post.
Saw them live about a month ago, literally the best time of my life
...
this guy is right
Great choices
Also Revolver
Cringe
How can you both be so confident and yet so wrong, without a doubt this is the true experience
Based
youtu.be
fuck off
thanks man must have been amazing to see live
this is prezoomer lotus. zoomers are too young to remember this.
Wh3n does Zoomerjsm start? Cosmogramma ?
Ehhhhh, GNG BNG could've been on th4 Matrix soundtrack
very good question. imo around the time he released Pattern+Grid World. cosmogramma is probably a better indicator though.
This is the objectively correct answer. This album is literally an experiment with the goal of pushing psychedelia to its most extreme.
Cringe
The most psychedelic? What do you mean? I guess it would depend on what state of mind that people are in and how accurately they convey it.
Some people on lsd just kind of go into a trance like state or something.. then they try to convery ideas.. a lot of music from the 60s was like that but it seems like you would have to be there to understand it.
somewhere in the 80s there was a second generation resurgence of this psychedelic culture and it seems like that incarnation was quickly mixed with amphetimeans.. like speed or whatever, because it has a different quality.. Its much more high strung and finicky and unhealthy, but there is a definate and absolute thing they are trying to convey, its kind of retarded though and has mostly a trivial value... Most of these albums sound flashy or holographic or something but that can make a person insane..
Some albums ive listened to that have this quality are smashing pumpkins - gish... weezer - the blue album.. deftones white pony and other albums, that band seems to play around with this type of thing and each album has a different quality..
These hipsters nowadays will assume that because something is simplistic that it cant be psychedelic or something but that ultimately makes no sense.. These are just ordinary people taking acid and shit like that and then expressing it.. they arent trying to be salvidor dali, that takes its own effort and just being on acid doesnt make you like that.
If you listen to the albums above while on lsd you will agree that these people are into it also.. all this shit is precision engineered to a molecular level. Then you listen to something else and nothing like that happens..
Oh yeah i forgot to mention the doors first album.
Alot of psychedelic music is depressing and unhealthy as fuck.. I feel sorry for anyone trying to tap into that shit and understand it, especially these days.. It can turn you into an unstable lunatic.
cringe
LA is the best flylo
They are the reason I wear earplugs to shows now. When I saw them it was a straight hour of them going off.
I think it fits. Almost crashed my car while listening to this since it was putting me in such a state.
Cringe

I was just about to post this album. This is literally the first psychedelic album ever made
>mfw either Splash 1 or Don't Look Down comes on
*Don't Fall Down
Thread is fucking clueless
Honorable mention
just listen to psytrance faggots

Thats tweaker shit user

Not the most psychedelic of all time, but last year's for sure.
Brainticket - Cottonwoodhill
based and shpongled
thank you, good-taste good-sir
Pretty sure it's this
no its not
based
Yes, yes it was.
The Byrds Fifth Dimension was released in July
the first to use the word pyschedelic but not the first psych rock
13th Floor Elevators started recording their album in January '66 though
So did The Byrds
Whatever then faggot
yeah, but like a couple weeks later. lol
Excellent choice
Go ahead and tell us the first psych rock band, old wise one.
...
Unironically
both wrong answers
Psychotic Reaction came out in October
a lot of these choices make me wonder if any of you have actually tried psychedelics at all. regardless how can something be the “most” psychedelic when it’s a completely subjective experience
That's why the 13th Floor Elevators are OBJECTIVELY the first band to make a psychedelic album, because they were the first to market it as one.
the point of the thread isn’t who did it first but who did it the best
who cares who did it first
There was a dispute on who did it first, just thought I'd clear it up with the only correct answer
the question is too ambiguous. Here are some more specific suggestions:
"What album most closely reproduces the auditory effects of psychedelics?"
"What album interacts with psychedelics in the most pleasing way?"
"What album is most representative of the 'psychedelic' genre?"
good opinion. Saw them in Philly last month and they kicked ass
definitely solid, wouldn't say most psychedelic though
underrated
based as fuck, good pick
damn I totally forgot about this shit. Definitely even more up my alley these days as my music taste has gotten progressively more bizarre
this is a better way to discuss this
