Couldn't care much as long as the keypresses are precise and they're semi silent. For now I'm using some slim a4tech on this workstation, and some standard, but not backlit asus keyboard on the graphical workstation, but lately I work at night, and since both keyboards are black, they're a fucking pain to actually move from one to the other and still hit my macros.
Can you post a pic of it, lit up if it's dark enough in your place? I don't really want light leak.

Found one locally... but it's so god damn expensive, and has a shitload of nasty downsides. It's wireless. Internal non-replaceable battery. Usb connectivity with mac only... It's called Logitech MX Keys Plus Advanced. Oh and it's $120.

I think the one I'm using now it's chiclet. And the wireless one I use as a remote... but these two were like: the wired one $10 for the wired one, and $25 for the wireless one, and the wireless one even has a motherfucking trackpad. Are LEDs that expensive to put under the keys?

I hate laptops for actually doing work. Mostly because of the heat. It's not a lap top if you can't actually put on your lap because you block the ventilation. And the ones that don't have heat problems are simply way underpowered for what I do. But yeah, you're right, a laptop's keyboard is most of the time more comfy to use and type on.
Whoa man, that's way too much... especially coming from under my field of view. Red for me means bad, usually audio channels clip, or worse, power failure.

only reason I could hate my laptop's keyboard is because it doesn't have a numpad. but I got used to not having one when I still used the Mac keyboard, so I do just fine without it
but it's not even chiclet vs mechanical for me, the mechanical one I had before my current was perfect, but it died and manufacturer doesn't make it anymore (had a mouse from the same brand too and it took me fucking ages to find one again, because I have kinda specific needs for a mouse)
btw the other user's keyboard is RGB so you can change the color, I have a similar one but mine's backlit teal instead of red
