CP was a real problem

pics or it didnt happen

hidden boards were best
none of you have been here long enough to remember

I remember /z/ or /zzz/ or something, didn't have threads but a photo of a bee or something? There were a few but I bet they all 404 now

Also there was less porn, CP was rampant, gore threads, it was more like /pol/ and actually had some decent discussions and actually funny at times.
There were fun raids, around 2006-2008 when facebook moderation was shit there were fun times creating fake accounts and trolling Facebook groups.
Actually funny, edgy but creative and memorable memes.
Now Yea Forums is like 90% porn with half of it being degenerate porn even the YLYL are uninspired and not funny.

I made moot dress as a trap and suck my sick. True story.

Stfu zoomer. If you were actually around then, you'd know there was just as much porn as ever. The Internet is for porn, bitch.

All he said was there was LESS porn, retard. And he's right.

Yea Forums actually made fun memes.
Shoop da woop
Whoops forgot my hat

There was literally less internet back then
No social media like today
It was either CP or blurry emo teen selfshots taken with a 2 megapixel camera using a flip phone in a dark room, maybe the occasional hentai/loli thread that was quickly saged.
The hardcore stuff got deleted fairly quickly but even the most disgusting shit you can imagine that you literally won't even catch a glimpse of in the clearweb could stay for 1-2 hours before it was deleted.

He said he trolled facebook groups in 2006-2008. Facebook didn't introduce groups until 2010. Full of shit.

that must have been so nice

LOL

flashbacks to dudes shitting on babies and dead fetuses half inserted into assholes

it truly was a different time

It was a shithole populated by adtrw rejects, a different kind of shithole than it is now

Actual?

I've seen some gory shit in my lifetime but nothing like that, that's fucked.

No fucking way you couldn't create a page on Facebook before 2010
There were fan pages and memorial pages and shit Yea Forums was raiding

Attached: Pages.jpg (1440x695, 227.73K)

Actual. Baby was tied down from each limb too - it was a gif, must still be somewhere out there.

The half-inserted dead fetus was probably the worst I saw during my time, as the face was the part that was hanging out

This is your brain on porn. Zoomers beware. This could be you.

I'm from 2007. I've been coming here for years and years. I can't stop lurking and shitposting

remember the OG word filters like peanutbutter?

This.

/pol/ for all it's faults is closer to old Yea Forums than anything else.

Yea Forums in 2022 is more like tumblr than old Yea Forums.

There was way less porn, and most of it was shitty early cell phone pics of some college girls titties. Never could imagine back then that 3/4 of the catalog would be high def nigger dick threads with trannies jerking off to it.

i first accessed the internet around 2006. it was very slow. satellite hughs net. i remember homepage being msn.com, and windows xp, and downloading all kinds of cool mouse cursors, and playing games off of cd's

The beginning of the tranny porn invasions was the real beginning of the death of Yea Forums for me

yeah, and the PENIS, VAGINA filters.
My memory is vague but I remember:
>snsd gee: youtube.com/watch?v=U7mPqycQ0tQ
>vegetable song: youtube.com/watch?v=AKKT7zE_0Zg
>THE BEST THE BEST: youtube.com/watch?v=h_L4Rixya64
>Yea Forums being turned upside down as a joke
>a bunch of spam
>shonen anime
>lots of hentai
>raids
>gaia online, maplestory, habbo hotel, runescape, etc. raids and memes
>less degeneracy on Yea Forums
>people actually having discussions instead of saying "ok retard" or "meds schizo" or that tranny crap
>hearing about bitcoin for the first time here
>first pepe meme
>first trollface meme
>9gag, facebook and reddit starting to steal memes
>them becoming mainstream on the internet by 2012 or so
>more optimism
>the internet was a wild west, far less normies than today

cool man
those feelings were so good
wish I knew how good that life really was. It's better than most shit that "adults" end up feeling like they have to do to be normal.

I don't think such communities exist on the internet anymore.
Everything feels so annoying and toxic. No genuine fun, people sharing stuff, enjoying their hobbies, nice banter, etc.

Been here since 2006, I miss it, I remembering being on that thread when that teen shot up Westroads Mall in Omaha Nebraska, in 2007.

Took me a while to find it, but here's an image. I knew someone had screened the thread partially.

I also do remember a greentext story about a girl that turns into a bear once her student finds out. It was posted somewhere in 2008, ill have to find it.

Attached: guilty-as-charged.jpg (901x922, 152.99K)

I miss the raids. Really made you feel like you were part of an unstoppable army. There was actual communication and collaboration. Remember when Yea Forums collabed to hunt down that dude that killed someone with an ice pick? We got shit done and it felt like you were part of an actual community.

Less unfunny liberal faggots. Or at least they lurked and didn't spew their faggotry.

even a fucking school shooter thread fron 2007's Yea Forums sounds more full of life than most of the internet does today lmao
thanks for sharing those stories
I lost my pepe and Yea Forums collection, though. It's because I got paranoid about those embedded porn images, you know? Sink posting and all that. So I deleted all of it just to make sure.

No, that's what having real friends is for.

Holy shit, I remember that. Someone'll have to do some digging to get some light on that.

Wasn't there also some old dude with a sword that said he was going to go to Afghanistan to kill Bin Laden or some shit? Letter popped up that he died with a sword in his hand in afghan if i remember correctly. Wild shit.

>I miss the raids. Really made you feel like you were part of an unstoppable army. There was actual communication and collaboration. Remember when Yea Forums collabed to hunt down that dude that killed someone with an ice pick? We got shit done and it felt like you were part of an actual community.
oh yeah that was legendary. That nigga got caught in an internet cafe in Germany if I recall correctly. The internet had that energy you're talking about, but then it fizzled out during the 2000s. In 2010-2012 shit like Facebook started turning the internet into normalfag land. I think it's because of the iphone, the popularity of the smartphone, cheaper data plans, etc. Nobody used that slow pre-smartphone internet on their phones before androids and iphones

early years would be considered cringe by zoomers because people were more genuine
by 2006-2007 it was the general image people have of Yea Forums, with enigmatic coordinates to dead bodies and new memes cranked out every day
by 2010 or so it felt stale and almost like an early transition from retards on the then 2-year-old facebook

I entirely dropped the site from 2012 to 2020, and sporadically back since then only to really have to ignore the endless threads of retarded BBC shit and stupid log posters. I'm only here because my life is miserable and I'm bored, but this site is proper trash.

Any time someone says “we” in reference to old Yea Forums I just know not to take them seriously at all

A lot of revisionist history in this thread by people who were probably like 9-12 years old at the peak of Yea Forums in the mid/late 2000s. Pathetic. kek

I had those (I'm not a loser) but you tend to drift away especially after one of you starts having a relationship. I even met a few people that were long time Yea Forums lurkers, too. But things have changed. It's probably a cultural issue that affects people IRL, too.

I spent my childhood on Yea Forums, yeah

yeah. i mean there was always like a single trap thread floating around, but now the catalog is literally 50% BBC sissy shit and 50% tranny shit. It might as well be a tranny board at this point.

What's sad is it's obviously a coordinated raid and the jans do nothing to stop it.

Early internet was dope. But pre-internet life was even better.

Everything is either hyper SJW cringe, or carefully curated corporate advertising. There is no 'normal people internet' anymore.

I remember being able to go on gamespot.com and just read game reviews all day and get an honest opinion from some gamer about how a game was. Now the reviews will complain about how there wasn't enough other-abled trans characters of color before giving you some sales pitch for a microtransaction that donates a percentage to Jewkraine.

Like i just am exhausted of the social programming. It's pervasive through all content- movies, music, games, internet, streaming.

It's literally exhausting and it's part of why Gen-Z is absolutely ridden with anxiety.

They got told to fuck off, plus before 2016 this was just a place for nerds. After 2016 the political machine realized that memes could influence voters. That's when faggy groups like MediaMatters started flooding our boards with political shills and liberalism. They couldn't let 2016 be repeated. 2016 was the last breath of organic memetics at work.

Fuck bro

btw, the popularity of Yea Forums didn't peak in the mid/ate 2000s
see pic related from google trends

Pretty much like this but with different kinds of cancer.

No. He actually didnt die. Pretty positive he was arrested.
Look up Gary Faulkner Yea Forums

You just proved his argument with that image

I FUCKING FOUND IT.

2014 is in the mid, late 2000s?
You just proved your retardation with that reply.

That was literally the peak in terms of everything because normies didn't get their greasy paws on it yet, and the shitposting at that time was actually original and funny.

Attached: JESSSS.jpg (1600x1559, 300.12K)

I don't think you know what the "peak" of Yea Forums means. An hero retard

that shit was amazing. Shit like that used to be way more common.

and you don't know, either, turd boy.
Normies didn't start lurking and ruining Yea Forums until reddit, 9gag, etc. That's when Yea Forums got turned into gay porn, SJW, etc.

The 2014 uptick was related to GamerGate.

The single event that put us on the timeline we are on. GamerGate is what let the frogs of memetics loose. It's what got us Trump's victory and Harambe. And it's also what made the political-corporate establishment realize that memes- and Yea Forums itself- is something they needed control/influence over, or if nothing else, something they needed to nerf. Hence why 99% of Yea Forums is porn now.

>Like i just am exhausted of the social programming. It's pervasive through all content- movies, music, games, internet, streaming.
Yep. It suffices to poison one part of the lake to poison it entirely, once the poison spreads everywhere.
That's how you have faggots posting all day about trannies and politics on Yea Forums, thinking that voting actually does a thing, all day long.

>That's how you have faggots posting all day about trannies and politics on Yea Forums

Alot of that started out as a paid effort by ShareBlue etc. And then retard trannies from reddit picked up the torch and started doing it for free.

Honestly if we just had janitors that did their job it wouldn't be as bad as it is.

I'm not saying we should really restrict free speech or anything, but the obvious spam (BBC sissy stuff, endless "shouldn't share / IG" porn threads etc) should be pruned.

Yep. Before that it was being ruined slowly and steadily (but not to today's degree) by normies from 9gag, reddit, funnyjunk, etc. But now all boards have that /pol/ toxicity added to them: incels, sex obsession, trannies. Plus, every board has bot threads if you pay attention to them and search the archives. All fast moving boards have bot threads with the same image, same text and an OP that always "leaves" the thread after posting it

REMEMBER WAVE? THE MICROWAVE YOUR PHONE EPIDEMIC? LOL.

Most people that lurk here now didn't discover Yea Forums until like 2010-2012 at the earliest when things like Jessi Slaughter and A Todd blew up. There's only like a few us that were actually here in the 2000s that still come here. I wasn't here in 2003-2004, but started browsing the site in 2006 when a friend told me about the site. It was the wild west then, and the raids and shitposting was at such a level that only newfags now could dream of.

Also, /pol/tards for all their fault do a good job of self moderating in a way. They won't reply to obvious bait or porn/spam. People on Yea Forums just can't help themselves. They HAVE to reply to BBC porn threads which just bumps them. They don't know how to sage.

I feel like lots of Yea Forums threads are honestly just samefagging trannies replying to their own threads most the time. Having poster ID's on Yea Forums would help cut down on alot of that shit.

>people sharing stuff, enjoying their hobbies, nice banter, etc
its called facebook

yeah. First time I saw Yea Forums in the 2000s I didn't understand what the fuck people were talking about. It was full of spam and inside jokes that made no sense. It had a different feel back then

Sageing hasn't worked for over a decade. I doubt 95% of anyone on this board even knows what that means. Sage goes in all fields.

yeah, that guy on youtube?
I started coming here because of the KONY 2012 meme

nokosaging every thread

> all boards have that /pol/ toxicity added to them: incels, sex obsession, trannies

/pol/ is literally the only board on Yea Forums now that ISNT flooded with sex obsessed porn spamming trannies. Nice cope though.

I've been posting on Yea Forums since 2009ish, /pol/ is the only board i regularly use anymore specifically for that reason. It's the only board that still reads loosely like old Yea Forums. You get comfy threads, nostalgia threads, architecture threads, etc and they actually last. Post a nostalgia thread on Yea Forums now and it gets either slid by porn threads to the bottom, or you get 20 bitter redditing trannies screeching about how "things are so much better now you CHUD!".
