I don’t have a single opinion; I have definitely seen some that do not detract. But I am always a little scared on some level of them getting caught on something and pulling, perhaps because of a painful earring experience I had when I was younger.

The only mainstream piercings I think are just inherently ugly are bellybuttons and eyebrows (or 99/100 of them at least). I think gauged ears and pierced lips are almost always gross, too, but those are still a bit outside the mainstream.
