What does Yea Forums think of Jimmy Eat World?
William Howard
Elijah Stewart
I think they did a lot of great stuff, but sometimes got too glossy. My favorite album is Static Prevails, but Bleed American honestly has some really good songs. I'd say they're not as good as the classics like SDRE, Cap'n Jazz, Knapsack, and Texas is the Reason, but they're the absolute best of the emo-pop thing.
Benjamin Allen
I have a lot of nostalgia for The Middle. Other than that, not familiar with their work.
Owen Robinson
I bet Jimmy he couldn't eat a whole world and the absolute madman actually did it unbelievable
Brayden Campbell
don't really mean to go on the full on "Not Real Emo!" garbage tangent but i dont really see them as much of an emo band as much as they're just sort of a 90s alt-rock band. i dont think they quite fit into that same niche as the midwest stuff like SDRE or mineral or whatever, and to be honest their music has always felt really corny to me. not disingenuous necessarily, but just like, it feels really unnecessarily lofty. the first poster puts it well in that they get "too glossy" sometimes.
Kayden Hernandez
I only remember this band because the lead singer reminds me of Bruce Campbell. Also the Middle is the best pop song of all time.
Ayden Campbell
please listen to the song I posted here: I think you're right that they became an alt rock band, but their early stuff is very midwest emo
Eli Baker
one of my favorite bands of all time, clarity is a perfect record to me
Luis Miller
yeah, ive heard it, i just dont think it fits into that same niche personally. maybe its just that i cant get into the music that it feels sort of uncanney or slightly jarring in comparison to boys life or whatever
Gavin Ramirez
Music for gays. Listen to better shit you fag.
Nathaniel Cox
don't even get me started on JEW
you know they control the industry, right? like they rule!
William Gonzalez
lol
Asher Ward
I agree. Listen to real music, from the 70s and 80s. Soft Cell, Village People, Jobriath, Pet Shop Boys, the list goes on...
Samuel Lopez
All garbage.
Easton Taylor
you're not getting the joke
Owen Baker
IF YOU'RE LISTENIN

I really loved this song:

Clarity and Bleed American are great albums. I don’t care what subgenre they are, they’re both great rock albums
Favorite tracks from them are Lucky Denver Mint, For Me This Is Heaven, Just Watch the Fireworks, Goodbye Sky Harbor, Your House, Sweetness, A Praise Chorus, Bleed American
Jose Cooper
They got really big around the time i was like 12 -16
I really liked bleed american, sweetness, and of course the middle.
They seemed to fall off the face of the planet after being the ones who actually kicked off emo music being a thing in the 2000s, and emo being taken over by like anyone signed to fuled by ramen
Jason Rogers
Futures is a pretty emo sounding album
Nolan Martin
>get tickets to go to their futures 10th year anniversary (playing the album in full)
>tfw dont end up going
i definitely regret that one
the good news is that i bought a copy of the 3LP bleed american reissue a week ago, thinking it was just the standard black one but it ended up being the first pressing limited to 500 copies. still stoked about that
Ian Bennett
>Also the Middle is the best pop song of all time.
Is "x is the bet pop song of all time" some sort of meme on this board?
I see it multiple times day on here.
Isaac Diaz
I don't think Jimmy could really eat the whole world. It's pretty big and Jimmy's just a normal dude.
Jaxon Long
you're the biggest faggot of all time
Thomas Bennett
Tell me how The Middle isn't a pop song
John Powell
worked
Zachary Fisher
