The only reason its so hated, or at least from the complaints I've seen, is robert's dumb vocal delivery on it, which is perfectly understandable. However, it doesn't bother me much and everything else about the track is fun.

The instrumentation is very messy in a charmless way. They're no strangers to abstract guitar work like on The Kiss or The Snakepit, but there it's used to greatly psychedelic effect. Club America sounds like a rockout where all the instruments aren't really working with each other or creating a greater whole. And they've done better balls to the wall rockouts as well like Cut or even It's Over. It's a nigh cacophonous mess where nothing compelling comes of the cacophony. And never mind that it drones on for the better part of 5 minutes with that nonsense. They tried something different and it just didn't work that time.
