>Bibbe's maternal grandmother was Jewish, while her father, artist Al Hansen, was of Norwegian descent[8][9] and was a pioneer in the avant-garde Fluxus movement.[6] Beck has said that he was "raised celebrating Jewish holidays" and that he considers himself Jewish.[10]

For what reason should I be coping?

None of my friends are Jewish and I'm not religiously Jewish, but I am half ethnically Jewish (my dad - Ashkenazi and a little Mizrahi), and for a little bit all the anti-semitic bullshit online started bothering me because I just wasn't used to it. Having great Jewish figures to point to - musicians like Lou Reed, Bob Dylan, Richard Hell, Leonard Cohen, Marc Bolan, writers like Sholem Aleichem, Stefan Zweig, Allen Ginsberg, and political activists like Noam Chomsky, Murray Bookchin, Naomi Wolf, Peter Singer, and William Kunstler, was reassuring.

Because Jews are basically a nomadic people, we're inherently multi-ethnic, and tend to push for progressive issues like civil rights. That's something to be proud of. Our very existence is a problem for racists. The only good white nationalist is a dead one.
