It's their second most accessible behind FCC, same reason why a lot of Radiohead fans suck In Rainbows' dick. Also, Victorialand is their best one.

The more recent remaster was pretty good. The problem is that the version on most streaming services sounds like ass. When you hear an original vinyl rip or the remaster you’ll realize the Spotify version sounds so tinny.

HOH is so hit and miss for me. Its best songs are amazing (top taste on In My Angelhood, my dude) but they didn't seem like they had found their groove just yet. At least with Garlands they zeroed in on a mood, HOH sounds uncertain, like they're trying a bunch of things to see what sticks. I also think M&K is crazy underrated - Violaine, Serpentskirt and Treasure Hiding are all personal favorites.

Head Over Heels sucks to be honest

Treasure's definitely their first album where they really hit their stride but I always thought Head Over Heels was a good mix of the few shining goth rock moments on Garlands and late 80s Cocteau Twins

garlands is really interesting from a historical perspective and isnt a bad album by any measure but at the end of the day it sounds like complete ass compared to every other cocteau twins release. you can barely hear liz and the drum machine sounds atrocious. youre being a massive contrarian if you actually prefer this to all of their later work.

I have a japanese pressing that has some extra songs on the D side, its pretty darn good desu
