I own my own but rent for similar places in my area starts around $2400 per month.

Own a 1 bedroom mobile home on 15 acres in the literal mountains...well, Appalachian mountains. Nearest neighbors are about 4 miles down the road and I got 2 ponds, a deep well & a creek providing my water. So it's paradise to me. Just put out my crop in my garden, so I get a faint smell of fertilizer every so often when the wind shifts directions.

Sounds a hell of a lot better than my situation. 1 room studio with a small ass stand up shower / toilet/sink closet "bathroom" for $ 3000 a month. I hate nlNew York. I wanna kill myself.

We have two train stations near us, one about 3 minutes on foot, the other about 8 minutes on foot. It's actually a pretty good deal considering.

I am the freehold owner of my house, gardens & outbuildings as well as the land that they occupy.

The only costs that I incur by living here are the routine maintenance and improvements, that I choose to pay for.

Same here except I chose the commute. No regrets. Yeah the drive sucks, but my house is my happy place and the long drive gives me alone time from the kids and wife. $1,600 a month for a 4 bedroom 3 bath house.
