Hey Yea Forums. What are your thoughts on Julian Casablancas?
Hey Yea Forums. What are your thoughts on Julian Casablancas?
His music is bad and so are his lyrics and voice. Good frontman though.
He's one of my favorite artists. Really inspired me to change how and what kind of music I listen to. I really love his new output with the band The Voidz.
>DUDE COKE LMAO
>DUDE WE’RE ALL RICHER THAN VAMPIRE WEEKEND BUT GONNA PRETEND WE’RE DIRTY ROCKSTARS
cringe desu. musics good tho
he saved rock and roll
industry plant
Any proof? I would really like to know.
>alt-indie
he's been a millionaire since birth
Fantastic artist who has released tons of hugely creative pieces of music
Yeah his parents were rich as fuck but he's talked many times about how his dad basically completely neglected him, and regardless Is This It by itself is good enough to completely justify any hype placed on him, organically generated or not. Human Sadness is SOTD
Great voice and lyrics, dude spent most of his time before the strokes in Finland or some shit in a rehab center for alcoholism, went on to form the strokes, wrote most of their songs and guitar parts, got discovered playing some dive bar
Poor man's Alex Turner
This
washed up af
I'm a poor man.
everything alex turner does is an attempt to get papa casablancas to notice him
He started off that way. But now Alex is bigger, cooler and more popular than Julian ever was. While still being 6 inches shorter than him. Alex is superior in every way possible.
Based
I have a hard time believing posts like these aren't made by AI.
He's done something other than a daft punk collab?
I can assure you that I'm not an AI. Ask me anything. I just wanted to know people's opinions on him. Most of the people I interact with don't know him or don't have an opinion on him.
Alex still wishes he could make an album as good as Is This It though.
Also, I think Julian is a little experimental with his approach to music nowadays. At least he's trying. Alex is making straight forward rock songs. Good songs though.
Julian is a way better songwriter than Alex, by far. Alex only makes boring and sterile music.
>His voice is bad.
>Good frontman though
what's your issue
good intentions. shitty politics. good music but leaves a lot to be desired.
What are his politics?
If he has a bad voice then he is not a good frontman, is he? That's the most important fucking quality of a frontman.
Is music is bad
His voice is bad
Then he's not a good frontman.
He does nothing good. He doesn't sing well and what he sings sounds like shit regardless.
Stage presence is the most important part
Lots of bands' frontmen aren't even the singer.
Could fuck my ass so hard my shit just slips out.
Same
One of the best alive
The better the singer's voice, the harder it is to believe what they're saying
Get out of my head, user
Look at his smile
>my daddy was friends with trump, so Trump=bad
I remember listening to Is This It? and thinking he was super cool and I look at him now and it makes me want to cry
He single-handedly got me into appreciating music, got me into experimental music, and saved rock not only once, but twice. To this day, the Strokes are my favourite band. Julian is a musical god in my eyes, however much I disagree with his political stance.
I agree
rock god
The Voidz are fucking based
Turns out the guy knows me as a fan. I used to comment on all cult records uploads back in the day
