Little Dark Age - MGMT
Jeff Lynne's Masterpiece this is so much better than Out of the Blue
It’s so fucking good
There’s no Throbbing Gristle pictured
What are some good artists like CRJ?
goddamn great
I want to know this too, EMOTION has quickly become one of my favorites ever but i cant think of super similar stuff
Best other female artists i think of are Kate Bush, Bjork, Haru Nemuri
Zola Jesus and Laurel Halo are worth checking out.
Weyes Blood
>80's forward
Fuck you early Human League was best Human League.
Agreed. I love the cold and futuristic atmosphere of their early stuff.

>80's forward of course!
But the best synthpop of all time came out in the 70s
fuck am feeling this
I generally don't dig these nu-synthpop bandcamp people, but I like it
Tesla Boy is another one that I've ended up liking
Anything Box
Re-Flex - The Politics of Dancing
Simple Minds yeeeee
all their shit is honestly good
they are the only group i would strongly reccomend only listening to the singles collection
here is more of a late 70's early 80's synth song which is just a 12" edit.

We can't forget the Jan Hammer theme

I dont know if this belongs here because I feel that people associate "synthpop" with analog 80's sounding music. This is more of a downtempo song that has synths that you would hear in 90's rave music.

And then here is a more digital electropop sound. I feel that this is a modern version of commercialized techno and dance music of the 90s. I like the sound of the lead synth but not the supersaw pad.
Just start of with the best synth. Dont take these faggots advice. All of these Human League and Heaven 17 are trash. The best synth acts were as following in no particular order:
Depeche Mode
Ner Order
Gary Numan
Indochine
Mockba Music
Alphaville
The Mobile Homes
OMD
Ultravox
Yazoo
YMO and their solo stuff (Sakamoto, Takahashi, Hosono)
This has to be bait..
yazoo +1

among the better synthpop tracks of the last 5-10 years, 4sure.
love little fluffly clouds but would not include it on a synthpop collection for sure
jan hammer is fucking good
Great if you want to bury your dick into someone.
This. This is all you need.
croketts theme
never seen particular album this posted on Yea Forums before, enjoyable synthpop
This is probably my favourite, given that A&M and Low Life have been posted already. Also gonna recommend China Crisis because I don't think I've ever seen anyone talk about them on here. Difficult Shapes and Working With Fire and Steel are both very solid synthpop albums.
Based, Simple Minds are very underrated.
Architecture and Morality is fantastic from start to finish though.
New order has a brilliant singles collection as well
>Violator not mentioned yet
New World Record is his masterpiece. Nobody ever argued for Out of the Blue.
Hey Hey Hey buddy, we don't need that non synth shit in here!
This album made me feel gross and it was gay and altogether not that bad
Drab Majesty is the best darkwave/synth-pop artist since the '80s.

one of numan's most underrated albums
This record is pretty good

Holy fuck
Would you fuck me? I'd fuck me
Surprised no one posted youtu.be

This whole album is great but this is their most 80s sounding track
Front 242 - Official Version
No band at the time or since has made anything like this album. It is the perfect blend of harsh industrial noise, synth melodies, sampling and heavy 80s dance beats.
Isn't that the guy who reviews fast food on youtube?
Carly Ray Jepsen commerical career screwed up by not working with the producer who produced "Call Me Maybe" and "Guitar String/Wedding Ring" on Emotion. Josh Ramsay produced her biggest hit "Call me Maybe" and yet he disappears from her next album.
Here is Nellee Hoopers remix of 6 underground, which sounds Bjork-ish..
If you want to find "similar" artists to a singer, its always good to check out who produced the songs of that artist. In this case Nellee Hooper produced many of Bjorks early hits; sadly they haven't worked together recently and new Bjork sounds unbearable.

and here is another song that they have that was remixed by Armand Van Helden:

I have a whole list of songs that sound Avant Garde(or at least to Americans like myself who werent exposed to the 90s rave and electronica scene).
anyways expanding on my previous list
RIP to La Roux as a band. Ben Lingmaid (the producer) left after their second album, so RIP to their synthpop music.

I never really liked La Roux. Not sure what it is about Elly Jackson's voice but it's never worked for me.
did mommy's money run out
I really dig Charli xcx pop2 stuff and also the Kim Petras track "I don't want it at all"
