explain this Yea Forumsros

she obviously is nobody disputes this

literally every popular and even semi-popular indie music is there cause its promoted and had money thown at it.

I really liked the office vid, dwight actually kinda roasts her and she actually knew a good amount of office trivia. Wish it was longer though.

We live in a society

There is objectively nothing wrong with Billie Ellish

Literally every band is an industry plant. The Beatles? They got scouted by a label and became a plant.
My Bloody Valentine? Were funded by the industry before they even released a decent album. the list goes on and on.

nothing right with her either. This anything above a 5/10 has an alterior motive

LETS GET IT

her music sucks for one thing

You know who isnt an industry plant?
Jonathan Coulton

She’s featured in a new Calvin Klein ad.

But she’s totally DIY and anti-industry guys.

Yep.

I like how all her songs except Bad Guy have simultaneously fallen out of the Top 40.

yet another example of "alternative" that is actually created by the mainstream
billie eilish fans think they're alternative when they listen to an artist on interscope with 100 million+ streams

She's never claimed to be DIY and anti-industry you retard. She is simply a singer who got picked up by label like literally every other non-indie band in history

It's alternative to hip hop and Ariana grande stuff. Its a huge umbrella term that doesn't mean much

>I'm a bad guuurrrrrl...
>Duh!

>alternative to hip hop
barely when you consider she's marketed as being similar to soundcloud rappers in terms of image (music isnt the same of course though, but she's marketed towards that niche)

Ok, call her a hip hop artist then.

She’s the female replacement for X. She wasn’t marketed as a suicidal SoundCloud sadgirl until right after X was killed. Interscope no doubt wanted to cash in on X’s posthumous popularity surge. That’s also why Shillie bragged about X making such a huge impact on her life during her Montreality interview despite having never met him IRL.

>releases a simple but professionally produced music video for a typical Lordewave song
>signed to a major label known for relentlessly shilling their artists
>claims to have grown up poor despite living in a wealthy neighborhood in LA
>gets tons of media coverage in everything from music rags to mainstream news and internet shows like "Hot Ones"
>gets hyped as an artistic prodigy despite her only talent being doing vocals (doesn't write the lyrics or instrumentals, doesn't seem to do visual arts much either)
>relentlessly clout chases the soundcloud/hip hop scene, going as far as to dressing up in dopey clothes with big european fashion brand logos all over them
>plays up her relationship with xxxtentacion after he got killed
>acts tryhard edgy and pretends to be depressed
>releases a mediocre pop album of the Lordewave variety with discount Lana sounding vocals and hip hop style production
>media acts like it's a game changer when it's really just a contemporary pop album derivative of the same things many other contemporary pop albums are
>plays up her friendship with xxxtentacion despite having never met IRL and has 4 songs about him on her album to capitalize on his death
>gets her own curated museum exhibit to promote the album
>one of her songs appears in Calvin Klein ad
>despite all this she is marketed as an indie artist who totally just happened to make it after posting a song or two, taking spotlights away from actual indie artists who do not have corporate backing
she is a perfect representation of everything wrong with the music industry. the safe sounds derivative of recent pop music, the omnipresence in major media outlets, the marketing as organic and independent despite being a massive forced meme, the focus on image instead of substance, and the tireless clout chasing/coattail riding of an established scene.

It disgusts me immensely the way "indie" has lost its entire meaning, much the same way that "pop" has lost its.

/thread
the definitive post to btfo billie shills

she's more like "urban pop" i guess, she's not really alternative though unless we call halsey and lana del rey alternative (which i guess some people do). alternative and indie dont really mean anything anymore if that's considered it.

>that image
God damn that is some cringy shit, and millions of likes too, definitely not organic

Cleo is also friends with her and wanted her and X to become a romantic couple before he died.
