There are also some other things to consider. The early days of Yea Forums weren't documented well, so as far as I know, you can't find archives of threads from 2003 to 2005 (besides some occasional exceptions). On top of that, Yea Forums's history has been preserved staggeringly well.
At Bibliotheca Anona (I think that's the name), for example, there's an entire timeline of Yea Forums's history, starting from before the site was even founded, all the way up to today. Meanwhile, for altchans like infinity chan, there isn't nearly that level of documentation as far as I can tell.
