we don't really
he's more popular than he (or anyone) deserves to be but he's done some great stuff
annoying nasally jewish voice and mediocre guitar player
great lyricist though
He made music that many many people like. Good on him
He's a cuck
DUDE VIETNAM WAR LMAO
I listen to music not poetry
(((Bob Dylan)))
He’s written so many of my favorite songs of all time. Whenever someone uses his voice as an argument against him, I tune out. I honestly love Bob regardless of what he’s been through. He’s a strong light in the musical world and art world. Long live the man
something something hipster. idk its fine but after one or two songs of his it gets tedious
Ya just gotta feeeel it man
Have you even listened to him?
Dylan is the absolute cultural legend, and no one can alter this fact.
i know hes trying to create that weary traveler rests under a tin roof while it rains feeling but its pretty grating
He's a nobody outside of the US
Maybe try Blonde on Blonde or Desire
Also not true.
cherrypick like 10 fav songs and forget about the rest, and never read on him
dude wasn't a legent leftie media likes to represent him
huge poseur and sellout in fact, check out books written by people around him
always singing about protest and being dropout and whatnot. then he never protests to anything and sells out like a corp fuckboi he is.
joan baes memoir, for example.
Hes a pretentious effeminate bitch. Wigwam is fantastic though.
id say a 3/4 of his what 30 studio albums are absolute trash. that being said i dont think there'll ever be a lyricist like him ever again
>inb4 muh nick cave
I fucking love bob dylan, anyone else who disagrees is a bitch
John Wesley Harding is his best.
It’s not, that’s a shit contrarian take that nobody truly believes. Nice job being a faggot hipster though, seriously congrats
based
>Blonde on Blonde
this is nice, thank you user
Highway 61 Revisited is a nice one to listen to as well. Also, his live at '66 bootleg is probably the best live record in history, considering it's cultural significance
what's your favorite and don't say the normie blonde on blonde
kendrick lamar of his era desu
My favorite is actually probably this bootleg that user points to Best live album ever
Bob Dylan was a protest singer for about two years. He's wanted to be a rockstar since high school.
you're a fucking moron
>Kendrick lamar
Who?
Ebin rebuttal
>joan baes
don't trust a hoe
never trust a hoe
ABE SAID MAAAN YOU MUST BE PUTTIN ME ON
There has to be an argument to rebut. You just made a retarded statement. Make an actual argument about why it's not a good album or fuck off.
good songwriter
great lyricist
mediocre performer
The songwriting is aloof. The songs aren’t particularly memorable. The instrumentation and song structures aren’t very varied throughout the album. I’m not claiming that it’s bad, just that it’s underrated simply because it doesn’t leave an impression nearly as much as Dylan’s finest work. To call it Dylan’s finest, is, in my opinion, intentionally contrarian.
that was all vague bullshit and opinion. i could just as easily say the exact opposite of everything you said.
>intentionally contrarian.
it's one of his most critically acclaimed.
>The songwriting is aloof.
what does that mean
>The songs aren’t particularly memorable.
opinion. lots of people would disagree with you.
>The instrumentation and song structures aren’t very varied throughout the album.
the song structures are quite varied, with very few following a traditional verse chorus structure. and the instrumentation is stripped-back, but why is that a bad thing?
this is a great description of the bob problem
mu can't hate Bob Dylan because he is not black
>great lyricist though
I wish I could raise my english to the level to say the same
youtube.com
Even his bad moments usually always manage to be interesting.
>what is folk music
this, it's got the best of both acoustic and electric bob, the sound quality is freakishly good considering the technology of the time, and the fucking ATTITUDE of the second half is just amazing. You can tell that the Beatles, the Stones and all the other just heard this performance and said "that's it".
I could just sum up my feelings by saying it wasn’t as memorable to me, and did have the energy that I prefer from his finer works. I even prefer New Morning and Planet Waves because the emotion is more palpable in those, but obviously it’s just my opinion, no point in pointing that out. I actually like Planet Waves quite a bit and New Morning too
I'm from Brazil and his song influenced a lot of people here.
This guy for example was heavily influenced by him:
youtu.be
fbpb, great lyricist, contextually overhyped/played to death, but still really important and high quality
Come in she said I'll give you
Shelter from the storm
Because his harmonica playing sucks and his voice sucks too
