Hello impressionable young outcast, allow me to convince you you'll never be happy with a real job while I make millions off you with my completely unattainable lifestyle.

My fucking smartphone costs more than all his wardrobe, dumbass
>completely unattainable lifestyle
The dude lived in a small dump in new jersey (or was it new york?) a few years ago. He says his address at the end of the Another One album, look it up, not a great place. Also, he tours constantly and is getting burnt out from being on the road and drinking all the time. Probably signed a shit contract and has to tour and sell merch to make any money. Also, he dresses very modestly.

this mansion looks like utter mcmansion shite
Doesn't mean shit, I have rich family and I'm dirt poor.
>le working class musician who thinks binge drinking and chain smoking is a personality trait
- grimes, the daughter of a crown prosecutor and arts advocate
- clairo, the daughter of converse's owner
- billie eilish, the daughter of b-movie actors
- lil peep, descendant of a number of harvard and ivy league professors

>A list by Qwerty100
>mommy plz buy me obscure vintage guitars and amps
>mommy i'm off to america to convince everyone i'm a humble and regular joe indie rock bro
>mommy plz leave me keys to mansion in case it doesn't work out so good
His pain is real
Mac I've never bought an album from you and I never will.
Based classism
Where did you get any of this from? The dude was playing shitty gear when he was in makeout video tape. Is it really hard to understand someone just starting out, or an amuteur musician might have and use the cheapest shit they can find?
Mac brought it onto himself. The thing with him is that he started out as a DIY artist but he never really understood DIY as anything more than an aesthetic.
Mac has said in the past that his grandma or some other relative bought him a new Strat when he was in his late teens or something but he sold it to buy a used shitty pawn shop guitar because that's what everyone in the "scene" had....
Of all the artists you could have nitpicked for this you chose Mac?
Mac was groomed from birth for fame. He comes from a family of Freemasons for heck's sake!
You guys whinge that this is a sign of privilage but in reality its a soon that success is inherited.
Pretty sure the dude spends most of his money on expensive and outdated equipment (and cigarettes)
this
Who the hell is that anyway?
Sounds like a lot of jealousy.
Literally none of you know him or where he comes from, just gossiping like a bunch of bottom feeders.
I'm waiting on the day he goes full Mark Koz and starts rambling while playing the same 2 notes for twelve minutes. I cannot wait.
self insert art is lesser art
he never will because he's never been a good lyricist.
then why are all billionaire kids so mediocre?
i mean he has a million dollar home and a bunch of expensive equipment
the majority of prolific artists, musicians, and authors have economically privileged backgrounds
alex calder, his friend and former bandmate. funnily enough he got me tooed a few years back.
>To be honest my dick doesn’t get hard as often anymore
>Is this too much information?
Truly lyrical genius.
Koz simulator:
>Ramble ramble I remember led Zeppelin, ramble ramble kitty cats, ramble ramble I went to Europe, ramble rabble name drop some people in more famous bands rabble rabble rabble..
And yet I can't get enough.
>prolific
>talented
not the same thing. Too many men of genius were of a humble descent.
>not knowing /ourguy/
mediocre compared to a billionaire, successful compared to the average joe. regression to the mean too.
most geniuses came from economically privileged backgrounds as well
stop being impotent. people like kozelek because of his lyrics so he's a good lyricists. people like mac demarco because of his clothes and "his effects sound so trippy when i'm high"
The dude obviously came from a rich family but decided to use "shitty" equipment for aesthetic purposes and to hide the fact that he's rich.
>Impotent
I like both for the music they make.
Though I can identify with both of their personalities.
If Mac didn't have the explosion of fame he had around 2013 you fags would gobble his nuts. Just typical hipster mu drivel.
ive never listened to a mac demarco album but i want to knock his stupid fucking tooth out
his exceeding fame was what changed his style for the worse. this isn't about contrarianism, mac truly had identity issues due to his fame.
plus if you were actually around Yea Forums during that time, people were shitting on him for being a poser. everyone on Yea Forums saw through him the entire time.
Possibly. It's not like we can go to an alt reality and see what he'd be making had he not taken off as much. I don't mind the new stuff but can see where people come from by saying it sounds similar. I was a little surprised to hear as much guitar on this new one as there is. I anticipated more synth than anything. Glad to hear organic acoustics, pianos and slides.
I'd like to think that since he's all on his own label now he will just make whatever music he wants to instead of what's expected (like say some outlandish stuff like Mark or Nick Cave)
Tbh I think he's been depressed and in a slump but maybe after cowboy and having his own label space he'll flower a little and experiment more. The funk he's got on a couple tracks is at least promising that he's going beyond the synth slump if you can call it that.
Obviously you dingus, because the lower class in the past centuries literally had no fucking time to do anything but their simple work. When labor was greatly democratized, geniuses started to appear in all classes.
Jesus Christ what website am I on. Who flooded the place with evangelical housewives who have nothing better to do than write letter campaigns to there least favorite musicians for writing a song about pot. “This is bad for the kids, won’t someone please think of children next time”. Most great music is born our intense destructive situations you can still listen to jimmy Hendrix without wanting to shoot up. I resent the notion that rathan than says educating our children on how to actually reconcile and confront challenging situations we need to dull down the whole rest of the world to there level so no one is ever challenged or made uncomfortable. And how the fuck is this discussion surrounding Mac defucking Marco of all people?
>Literally threads pro-Mac Demarco alongside yours dedicated to hating on him
Yeah, mu sure is a one-sided hive mind.
I've had an on/off relationship with Yea Forums. Since like 2008, but usually only on here when I'm desperately bored or it can serve a purpose. In the case of today I found a leak. The odd time I'll go on v if there's some hype/discussion but the entire site is just juvenile and pretentious.
I think the only memorable time I had on mu was when death grips was in the heat of releasing an album super early which pissed off their label. There were intricate (autismal)threads decoding and trying to track down whatever they were putting out. I was only ever along for the ride, no idea how anyone sifted through that shit. Funn times, kinda.
Mac wrote a song about pot?
No that just a hypothetical example, although from what I hear his concerts are just giant hotbox sessions
>getting this bothered about a shitpost
Poor people suck
Yes because lawyer and politician genetics = good at music genetics
How is that any different?
literally not true btw. Ive been here since 2011. there was a small minority of people who didnt like him, 90% of the board loved 2
mac demarco is a legitimate indie artist who got big organically, he's not some billie product
