OH NONONONO
BLINK 182 New Single
cant be that bad
I TAKE EVERYTHING BACK
Tom DeLonge absolutely carried this band
why do old bands continue to put out new music. No one wants new stuff from old bands or artists.
Even the new Angels & Airwaves single is less chessy
cringe
Horrible, like the rest of their shit.
It's clear he was the better songwriter at this point
>blame it on my youth
>all the band members are middle aged
oof and yikes
You know your band is bad when even blink-182 fans don't like your shit anymore
Reminds me of Weezer, trying to write catchy millennial pop-rock with a worse version of songwriting the band is known for.
It can't be worse than Fall Out Boys new shit. It really couldn't right? please? there's no way?
this band is nothing without tom's endearingly shitty vocals
at least weezer occasionally still drop a kino song
those guys are like 50 now, they should be doing middle age dudes stuff ... seems like they neve outgrow their neopunk years
it isn't. doesn't mean it's not bad
straight ass
I literally called it their next album will be Raditude tear earlier today.
I mean, it isn't too bad. There's a definitely a crowd that would dig this, but the lyrical content could be better.
I don't think so. He had the most charisma and his guitar but Mark had the better lyrics and more interesting melodies. The thing is Tom did more of an effort to distance himself from the poppunk genre and with that title it's clear that Mark is shamelessly trying to relive his youth.
mark needs to reform +44 and let blink die
Brand recognition. Gotta get them phat stacks
>50 year olds singing about the same stuff they sung about in their teens and 20s
nobody wants to hear your dad sing YEAH DRINKING BEER IN FRESHMAN YEAR NOBODY LIKES YOU WHEN YOU'RE 43 WHATS MY AGE AGAIN
that would actually be based though. this just sucks.
is it gonna include alien redpills?
Fuck Mark for absolutely destroying the Blink-182 brand name.
I don't care how sophomoric their lyrics were, Tom DeLonge is a fantastic songwriter.
Tom is still a good writer too, his only problem is wanting to sound like some corny U2 shit
lmao
theye always been shit and cringe
They really do need to ask themselves what's their ages again
What is this style of rock called?
It's so fucking awful, how do you technically classify it though (there's post-grunge, there's nu-metal, there's etc.) so what's the name for this?
These "chant" choruses are so bad, sound like their meant for college football ads or something. Who started this? Was it Imagine Dragons? I hate this shit
It's like wanna-be poppunk stadium rock
I love Blink before Untitled, never liked much anything from that point onwards. What I don't understand with this direction is just...why? Why do it? Untitled up to Dogs Eating Dogs had the same 'experimental' vibe which while I thought was kind of generic they were obviously pushing the whole 'We're evolving as artists' thing. Cool, OK I don't expect them to do pop punk for all of their career if they don't want to. That's fine, they can do that.
But California and this...just, why? Why do those terrible gang vocals? Why chase the generic Urban Outfitters pop-indie aesthetic? They are clearly too musically principled to actually be sold into thinking this is genuinely good music and every conversation about their favorite bands always ends up with the same 'The Cure' etc. coming up. They're all very financially sound so it's not like they need the money desperately either. It just makes no sense.
I don't have a problem with them singing about their teenage years (Even though I think this song is pretty exaggerated as Mark didn't exactly grow up in some tough punk-rock scene, he's always been a suburban kid from a middle class home - which is fine, just don't pretend otherwise) and I'm not saying they need to stick doing the same thing that I like, but of all of the paths to go down, why this one? They're all punching well below their weight, it's such a waste. Either please the old punk fans, please the emo Untitled fans or do something genuinely new and interesting altogether, don't waste your fucking talents on this forgettable bullshit. Nobody is going to be nostalgic for this H&M background, generic Spotify Premium commercial music in 10 years time.
Tom left the band and they 100% only exist to make money now.
>there's post-grunge
post-grunge is a retarded label to begin with (and so is grunge)
This is sad.
Sorry senpai he's gotta go build UFOs now
Bands maybe. Solo artists have more leeway.
This is some shit Train would sing
Matt needs to stick with Alkaline Trio
This music so bland is hurts. I mean, it legitimately hurts to listen to. It cuts like a knife. This is pure SHIT.
