New Denzel Curry

Is he ever going to release his magnum opus? Seems like it's just getting worse and worse.

He already released his magnum opus. King of the Mischievous South was probably the best Raider Klan tape beside Blackland Radio

I'll agree that both his Memphis inspired Raider Klan tapes were phenomenal, even N64 and 32Zel showed great promise. With all those tapes and albums I thought he'd release a classic but the last two albums he released squandered any artistry he had.

Imperial and Taboo had some good songs u silly goose

Pretty much peaked at Nostalgic 64

He needs to stay away from Shillie.

Taboo was great man what the fuck are you talking about?

I liked the song.

This. I see what OP means though. I’d hate to see him go pop. He’s best when he’s angry and dark.

Taboo was shit

It wasn’t aside from some occasional corny lines.

If he’s going to compare himself to Kurt, she’s Courtney.

No it wasn't. Imperial was great too. Denzel hasn't released anything bad yet

It was better than Imperial, that's for sure. But Taboo to me was just disappointing, I was hoping for more from an album it's obvious he put lots of effort into. The whole three sides shtick was horribly executed, the production was bland compared to the beats he was rapping on early in his career or on the 13EP. Sure he's still a good rapper, but his flows kinda got repetitive and there was no real moment where it seemed like he was saying real shit. Black Balloons and Percs are the only two songs I still play regularly. It's not a bad album though, if we're throwing out numerical scores I'd say it's probably a 6/10.

*barks about white people over an abrasive beat*
Damn.. this is sick...

I too am patiently waiting for him to release a masterpiece but this new song isn’t bad in the least.

this kid peaked as a featured artist on MTA.

his magnum opus was being friends with X. he’ll never top that achievement

denzel actually put effort into songwriting on imperial. im not going to suck his dick like the rest of you hipsters for getting more professional sounding production on Taboo

HE had fucking pop songs on Taboo, what the fuck are YOU talking about, why on earth do you want to hear Denzel singing???

32 Zel > Imperial > 13 > Planet Shrooms

Imperial is great but Taboo sounds like it should have been his first album. It's just such an all around downgrade. He's trying way too hard to compete with other Florida rappers.

Seeing Planet Shrooms that low hurts. It's by far my favorite thing Curry has ever put out. The beats are unlike anything else I've heard, Denzel raps his ass off and actually says interesting shit, and the features are great too.

We were just talking about this on /x/. The Cobain video is the only one of his that has tens of millions of views. Even the better songs off Taboo barely have 1-2 million plays on YouTube. It was right after that video got big when emo/hipster outlets began promoting his stuff. Now that all the dumb teens are following him you know his quality is going to decline. And it makes sense yes touring with Billie (You) since being associated with a pop act made for teenage girls gives him an excuse to sell out and keep watering himself down.

This is literally just a banger track. I wouldn’t say his artistry is getting “worse” just yet.

>It's getting worse and worse.
Nah nigga you trippin. Denzel is getting better. TA13OO was one of the top 5 best rap albums from last year so he's packing up some heat. We probably expecting another EP this year.

Are you underage, just checking

Never compared himself to Kurt tf you talking about?

I'm older than you think. I've been listen to Denzel around 2016, I listened to all of his projects including his EP's. Taboo is not one his best but is still great, I prefer N64, but slightly better than imperial.

"Clout Cobain"?

If you don't feel that Denzel has already released his magnum opus then he probably never will.

compare his rebellious burn-it-all-down content from say "Strictly 4 My RVIDXRS" to his fatigue with industry slavery on Cobain, he probably doesn't have the hunger to create a magnum opus anymore. The guy is allegedly banging the biggest industry plant of the last few years. It's most likely a wrap he's comfortable with his spot now.

His real mark IMO will be legitimizing RVIDXR KLVN as a group whose sound influenced the genre and music industry as a whole.

Irony is, Billie is no doubt using him as a means of gaining credibility in hip hop. No one fucked with her until Curry started caping for her. Figures a teenage industry plant would insist on using and abusing much more talented black artists to give her image an underground appeal.

Taboo was shit, glad to see him going back to his older style. This song was alright.

This is too fatalistic m8.

She was already a payola whore before her Taboo feature.

Literally no one cared about her and her music except teenage girls until she got close to Denzel and X. Is there any other reason why she’d be considered part of hip hop culture if not for this? She’s a rich girl born and raised in Hollywood who likes to LARP as if she’s from Dade County via ripping off the underground sound (which Curry helped make famous) and aesthetic. She’s clearly being marketed as the female answer to X given her “sad girl” image change (which occurred soon after X’s death and right as Taboo was released).

Also her parents are just as sketchy as X’s mother.

He’ll most likely go back to making dark, lyrical shit eventually.

he might, but being dark and lyrical wasn't what made his early stuff as impactful as it was. it resonated because it was innovative and impassioned with the hunger of someone who was yet to prove himself.

maybe Denzel can find that. I hope he does and he's talented enough to do it. But I believe that in all likelihood his music has peaked already. Once rappers start going Hollywood they rarely get better creatively.

>if a musician makes music outside of their normal style they're losing their touch and are going to fall off
>implying Denzel doesn't make hard music anymore
You're all a bunch of retards
