>muh muh plant just a plant just a plant it's just a plant muh plant guys it's just a plant muh plant muh plant
>DUDE WEED LOL
*smokes it once and becomes transended*
I Don't think so sweetie.
Never trust an addict, their brains are being controlled and they will stop short of nothing to protect their precious addiction.
Good music, regardless of the lyrical themes or your position on its themes can simply good music. You can't just deny that something is musically good just because it has lyrical themes that you disagree with. But the fact is that there IS no good druggie music. It is ALL based on their cancer-brained druglaced psuedo spiritual BULLSHIT and I don't like it. Oh its a taste thing right? "No!". The music just flat out SUCKS! I don't want to hear some gay ass hippie telling me how WICKED COOL he is because he burned some shityt little plant and breathed it in. Big whoop! Let me know when Bach, Mozart, Tchaikovsky and the other greats of old took drugs just to write good music. Use your brains kids, not your garden.
And before you stoners even THINK about replying to me...
This is the only reply you'll ever get you drug addicted freak, and you're lucky for it. Go impose your destructive drug ideas on someone else. How about you turn yourself into the police, "friend"?
Have u listened to pink floyd?
i smoke weed

Reddit album and also overrated
One good song on the whole damn album, Money. You gotta admit the cash registers sound cool.
Time
on the run is good though
This is the dark side of the moon "go to stoner album" of this generation
Literally every song on the album is good you don't need to be this contrarians just because r/trees likes it
I listened to it at a local planetarium. They were hosting a laser light show while they played the album. I took 3 tabs of LSD at the beginning and by the end, I was blown away.
Seattle? (:
I took 2 tabs and listened to it in the woods
No, it was on the east coast.
Retarded
I took 1 tab and walked along an abandoned railroad at 3 AM while listening to it
I feel like if I was tripping on tracks I'd be worried about getting hit by a train
>Most aesthetic
>turn yourself into the police
Weed is legal where I live friend :)
Weeds is for niggers
Super late, would hear/see a train coming so didnt worry
The tracks were through a Wisconsin suburb and was lined by bushes/trees which separated me from the houses/buildings. I actually came across two ambulances with a stretcher on the way back and I kinda freaked out, felt like a psychopath who was being tracked and I didnt want to meet any LE lol
I wish I can smoke something besides sativa. Indica gets me so fucking paranoid.
I personally don't like weed since I feel like it makes me unproductive but you need to calm down you raging autist
iktf I saw a guy pulling in to camp overnight while I was tripping in the woods and was immediately ready to run through the forest evading pursuers like far cry or something
LMAO
I’m always paranoid
Weed or not so it makes little difference to me unless I’m at work
Only smoke sativa there mostly for the energy/mood boost.
THE LUNATIC IS ON THE GRASS
Have you stupid fucks ever thought about the challenges of tracking this album on fucking tape?? There are so many parts that depart from using a set bpm, it’s crazy they were able to record something so coherent and fully realized while maintaining such an atmosphere and spacey vibe. Everyone that hates on this is a pleb contrarian that takes recorded excellence for granted
>can't smoke weed because pilot
Music for this feel?
TLDR.
>How about you turn yourself into the police, "friend"?
It's legal where I live.
>turn yourself into the police
Like become a cop? Shapeshift into Sting?
Now THAT would be cool.
King Crimson is better and pink floyd is still for dads that work at IBM
this album has hardly anything to do with drugs, its just fun to listen to with drugs
The guitar/sax solos are probably my favorite rock solos I've ever heard.
there isn't anything in the content of the album which endorses or celebrates drug use - this is entirely a product of the culture that has developed around the album and the band
is that jim carrey as doctor robotnik?
Probably because there wasn't anything decent to listen to at the time aside for Jazz
back to /pol/ puritycuck
What do you consider "druggie music"? You're disqualifying TVU&N right off the bat unless you have a very specific definition of druggie music that somehow doesn't include stuff like Waiting for the Man and Heroin. And while I almost never judge people based on their feelings on one album/artist/group, I can't take you seriously if you say that allbum and TVU in general aren't good at all.
TVU&N is the opposite of DUDEWEEDLMAO shit like stoner metal and prog rock.
While the stoner shit typically romanticizes and glorifies drug use, all the junkie shit like Alice in Chains and TVU&N constantly hammers the point home about how shitty life is as a junkie.
based
you seem a little on edge bro
Biggest cope I've seen yet

post hog
Eclipse and Time are some of my favorite songs period.
I agree with what I believe is the sentiment of your post: the argument that the value of certain musical perfomances or artifacts may only be ascertained through drug use can feel like a bit of a cop out - perhaps to excuse lazy or directionless composition, production, etc
I would be interested to hear what objective standard qualifies music as 'good' to you though and also, like this poster , what qualifies as 'druggie' music
It seems that the 'drugginess' of a work may only be garnered through some kind of indicator in the lyrics or perhaps as an 'extramusical' factor, as in your criticism of The Dark Side of the Moon, in which you rely on the band's following and place in culture as a qualification of its drugginess as opposed to anything contained within the album
Does that not also suggest that there are factors beyond the music itself that influence our reception of the work? Wouldn't that suggest that being under the influence of drugs be a valid influence on one's experience of music?
imagine the dopamine rush he got from all these butthurt replies to is effortful bait
The album holds up fine with or without drugs. I don't think your dad or grandad in some peoples cases are toking up or using LSD when they put on some PF. People are always going to connect the art with the fanbase but don't let that be part of your critique of the actual composition.
I almost entirely agree but also don't think that factors relating to how we experience music can or should ever be completely discounted
As an example, my first experience with DSotM as a teenager was not influenced by drugs but was definitely altered by the 'air of spirituality' the album has taken on as a result of its place in culture - I was prepared to have a sort of 'religious experience' while listening to it
On top of this the album harnessed production and compositional techniques that I was unfamiliar with at that age - longer song lengths, intricate rock arrangements (with some jazz influence which afforded a less rigid pop/rock structure than I was used to at the time), even (embarrasingly) purely instrumental tracks
My expectation, coupled with my unfamiliarity with those particular elements, resulted in a uniquely mystified admiration for the album
I see a lot of people post on here something to the effect of 'this is just a folk/soft rock album' or 'i dont get why this is psychedelic at all' - this is quite a reasonable response if you don't have a particular approach to listening to it or are already familiar with the compositional/production techniques of the album frpm other source s
>listens to an album about social economic struggles and existential paranoia
D-D-DRUGS!
always noided, based
I've been listening to this for fucking years. Absolutely years, I've been a fan for yonks, listening to this band so long. Crikey.
I can see your lack of taste. Money is good but you see... the fact that you can only react to ryhtm makes you a little bit retard. PF is also great at melody and harmony, but you are a lazy retard that will only be able to have instant gratifications, you dancer piece of shit
Try lonerism
What the fuck is wrong with you guys?
Any colour you like, the great gig, brain damage, eclipse, breathe...
All of them are great pieces of music.
You disgust me you fucking losers. Stupid faggots without a brain.
yeah dude most of nigger music nowadays totally isent revolving around inane hedonism and drugs bro schya brah fuck floyd true based opinion!
I really didnt read ANYTHING about dsotm. The only thing i read is drugs drugs drugs bla bla bla. I remember you that lots of albums of a high musical level were done under the influence of some drug (eg pet sounds) and non pot smoker critics still praise those albums. Dsotm is a great album if you analyze it objetively. Go suck a dick
