Lemmy said that the MC5 are what Motörhead always wanted to sound like, even before he'd ever heard the MC5

I actually strongly prefer Motörhead, but I think that's an interesting quote

I also think the MC5 get a little shafted, because it seems like their influence is obvious in everything from The Damned to Rage Against the Machine.

Doesn't he say "KICK OUT THE JAMS MOTHERFUCKER!" on this album? I was trying to show my friend the other day but we couldn't find the part. I swear he says it on the record, which is really badass considering it was in 1969, and their first album

yeah

I think it's either censored or they didn't sing 'motherfucker' at all during the show.

Do you know when he says it?

Speaking of Lemmy..

Not only excellent but their best album

He says it right before the title track of Kick Out the Jams starts - it's the second track on the album

Do you think they censored it on Cuckify? I'm certain we listened to that part. I would not be surprised in the least if they did that

Wow, I didn't think they would, I thought that was ridiculous, but you're right, they did. They didn't even censor it, they just cut out that part of the album entirely. The end of the first track fades out, and the second one fades back in with the song. On the CD it just goes straight through, with the banter.

>mfw they censored the spotify version i've been jamming to all along
Why is all of the political rhetoric and vocal masturbation ("nipples stiffen" and so many other lyrics) fine but 'motherfucker' isn't?

People on here talk about how Spotify isn't that bad but no joke I'm constantly finding ridiculous shit like that on it. Good think I only use it when I'm out. Music collection going strong on my pc. no censorship, no shitty remasters, no shitty quality, vinyl rips, it's great

Album ends with the crowd hating Devo while they play the most obnoxious version of Jocko Homo until they get cut off by the venue.

Love it

damn i don't remember that, i'll have to listen again. I thought it was just a good show

Sorry it wasnt Jocko Homo that they actually get cut off on but I Need A Chick. Listen to like the last two minutes and you can hear them get cut off and start picking fights with the venue/promoter/whoever cut them off.

>calls album pretentious and overbearing while scrutinizing chord structures for no good reason
Why can't music be simple if it's effective?

Fragments of a Rainy Season

Kick Out the James is legit the only "classic" (especially from anything punk related) that I don't get. Especially compared to what the Stooges were doing. I'll even take MC5's power poppy rock n roll record Back in the USA over it.

My dad had this one on CD when I was a kid and I listened to it a ton. Havent listened to the other 5 or so volumes but its pretty great.

It was the first song after looking up "kick out the jams"

Are you retards blind or do you just use the artist page?

Fucking this. I've always been saying this
Check out pic related. Maybe I'm just biased since I really like One Size Fits All, but it's still a great live album.
Zapppa in New York is also 10/10

That's a different album though. It's not the full performance

not only my favorite live album ever but also the greatest live album ever made desu

Oddly enough, spotify has the feature to make your own playlists. So essentially you could take the "original" album and replace the censored version with the original.

bomp

I enjoyed this

you could consider the first RATM LP to be a live album too, most tracks had been recorded with an audience.

You're literally retarded.

What did Marky Ramone have against these guys?

Attached: Cover.jpg (1200x1200, 171K)

Yeah, maybe if you're mentally 13

this too

Resentment that they invented punk and the Ramones didn't

>"""""live""""" albums

Good albums on this thread indeed

You would have to figure out if the uncensored version is from the same show, and that's assuming the didn't cut out other parts of the original record as well. i'm not super familiar with it so i wouldn't really know
