SLIDE IT IN RIGHT THROUGH THE TOP

Whitesnake is The Good hair rock band, prove me wrong

So this was where Green Day stole Boulevard of Broke Dreams from.

Figures.

They aren't even hair metal though. Dave Coverdale was one of the many 70s rockers who came back in the late 80s with the help of MTV song doctors and shit out terribly lame buttrock.

>one of their biggest single hits is a rip of an 80s buttrock song they probably liked as teenagers
I guess that goes to show you just how legit those guys are and how they didn't secretly want to be the punk Bon Jovi all along.

Not initially they weren't they were more bluesy, but meh. "hair metal" "mtv metal" "pop metal", whatever terms you wanna use....it's interesting because much like Anthrax and say Kreator hardly sound alike, neither do Motley Crue and Whitesnake, or say White Lion and Twisted Sister, etc etc, the whole "glam metal" style was not nearly as homogeneous as history seems to constantly say it was, it encapsulated some pretty different sounds and styles just within a similar blueprint like any other genre. It's just that nobody really cares cause it's uncool to like it, it's like I can say all pop punk bands sound the same to me but honestly I just don't care to listen to their music enough to learn the differences....or maybe I'm right who knows.

POUR SOME SUGAR ON ME
OOOH, IN THE NAME OF LUUVVV

It was a good run for a few years until grunge obliterated them, but they made enough money to be set for life.

Why is the punk community the most cancerous thing ever?

They were an obscure blues rock outfit Coverdale started in the late 70s after leaving Deep Purple but got little attention until they reinvented themselves for MTV.

Good move. The best bands adapt to the current scene while still injecting their old influences.

It's buttrock for 80s white trash chicks.

>white trash

Opinion discarded.

It's an alright song and not many hard rock tunes make the top 40 (normally a rock group only pulled that off with a power ballad).

Here I Go Again still starts off with a power ballad intro before seguing into a rocker though.

>finish work on what you know will be your breakthrough album
>fire your entire band at the 11th hr and get hired guns to hit the road with
This borders between extremely based and complete asshole. Good thing John Sykes got writing credits for it as well and never had to work since then

Whitesnake [Geffen, 1987]
The one remarkable thing about this veteran pop metal group has got to be the total predictability--the glistening solos, the surging crescendos, the macho love rhymes, the tune you can hum before the chorus is over--all new yet somehow heard before. Who cares if they're an obscure nine year old vehicle for the guy who fronted Deep Purple five years before that? Rock and roll's ninth or tenth "generation" of frightened high school boys can claim them as their own. May they pass from the ether before the current generation of 11 year olds sprouting pubes claim their MTV. D+

Slip of the Tongue [Geffen, 1989]
They've gotten lucky and they don't intend to let go. With fast hand for hire Steve Vai handling all guitars and God knows what other assorted geegaws, they've consolidated the essence of all arena--pomp, flash, male sentimentality. This is now the worst band in the world. So you just move over, Journey. (hey? where is Journey anyway?) D

does anyone know of some kind of meme/joke video where its like some little kid or an old lady singing this song in a really soft/off-key voice? It seems like it would be a vine or one of the videos from Important Videos or something. Anyone know what I am talking about?

Wasn't this back when he was jerking it to Public Enemy? Opinion disregarded.

Yeah but you see Public Enemy are black and they sing about overthrowing The Man or something while Whitesnake are just music for uncool white suburban people.

“Rock is dea-
