Fundamental distrust of media narratives. The media is saying that the attack against Ukraine by Russia is completely uncalled for, one-sided, and essentially refuses to expound on the situation that led to the invasion in the first place. Given that the Ukraine narrative is very obviously propaganda that is favored by the current administration, then opposition to propaganda and that administration would lead you to curiosity about the opposition. Investigation of the opposition leads you to their own propaganda, for certain, but comparing the 2 sets of propaganda might lead you to develop your own conclusion.
Then the media and the administration lambastes anyone who draws their own conclusion, and you start supporting the opposition out of spite.
