8/10 sounds really reasonable. It was a great album. The 3 singles bopped hard ("Thank u, Next", "7 Rings", "Break Up With Your Girlfriend, Im Bored"). Also "Needy", "Fake Smile" and "Ghostin"

No, it's predictable and superficial music, whose only, and ONLY, purpose is to sell and make money. It barely has any soul or goodness besides being catchy.

You can praise this album's lyrics for being forward thinking or whatever but it's only relative to other commercial pop that there's anything redeeming in her music. Without the mainstream popularity to give this album the clout of making a cultural statement, it really isn't that mature or impressive in comparison to other female artists. Thank u, next is tolerable, but the other tracks I've heard have been shallow materialistic drivel.
