• If he doesn't exist, the only meaningful and rational act is to kill yourself as soon as possible.
• If he does exist, he is clearly not like any religion.
• He is omnipotent, but not omniscient and omnipresent, and cannot multi-task or experience several things at once like us.
• He never had any blueprints for all the worlds he has ever created, and his creations evolve on their own.
I'm not sure what God's purpose is, if he actually exists. What would a being, who was alone from the beginning, who's cognition is as limited as ours, and has power of unbelievable magnitude truly want?
This isn't how you win people over. This is how you make non-believers hate us.

existence is defined by having measurable dimensions. god can not be perceived or measured so it can't be proven to exist. i have a philosophy degree. this is all you get.
i was still working on my lottery picker, and while i probably didn't need a CS degree to do it, it helped me figure out the rest of the steps and i realized as it became bigger and bigger that the runtime is enormous. it's ok, because it should only take 20 minutes to run through 1700 drawings at n^3 runtime with truly reanalyzing until i find the most unique, least likely to occur based on statistics set of numbers. i always approach every task as trying to keep it as ultra tight as possible as if i'm programming the tightest chips with the least code. that's my OCD and some schizoid effects, weed and alcoholism.
Ah my bad. Made the mistake of confusing you for yet another "all of you are going to Hell" Christian.
What's your take on the pragmatic approach to belief?
Josiah Martinez
My theory is that God lost a lot of power after creating the universe and all it's inhabitants. He's probably at only 30% power now, that's why he can't defeat Satan and his demons, they've grown too powerful for him. He lied to us, to make us believe he's still got it all under control, but he has no idea what he's doing, he's weak and ill, possibly dying.
Why would killing yourself would be meaningful? Maybe rational, sure, depending on your arguments, but not meaningful at all.
There's absolutely many reasons to believe in a higher dimension order, you can call it god, that doesn't mean you can't enjoy the ride as being a human.
>existence is defined by having measurable dimensions
What about feelings. They exist but can't be measured?
Henry Bennett
God is within anybody selling you religion is just trying to keep your ass inline.

This whole post depends on your second argument, which is about as retarded as you are. Didn't really think that one through, did you?

>ITT: people who >don't know what epistemology is >don't know the definitions or meaning of philosophical terms like rationalism, empiricism, positivism, metaphysics, idealism or materialism >haven't read Descartes or Spinoza >have heard of Nietzsche and pretend they understood his views >think logic is something you do when you're a smart person without reading Kant >have never heard of Hegel or dialectics, much less understood it >can't name a single argument by Kierkegaard >have no idea who Feuerbach was >get an aneurism when they hear about Marxist philosophy
seriously, how do you people talk about things so confidently when you have no idea?
Aaron Sullivan
Eat shit, faggot. Im correct.
Matthew Lewis
>• If he doesn't exist, the only meaningful and rational act is to kill yourself as soon as possible. This is really sad thinking, especially if we consider that the whole "suicide is a taboo" thing is nowhere in the bible and was instead made up by catholics to fix a loop hole of people killing themselves to get to heaven faster, if there is a God your life truly is meaningless compared to an eternal afterlife, kill yourself before you commit sins that cannot be forgiven. Why does there have to be a god for someone to be able to enjoy life?
Wyatt Sanchez
>876151014 (OP) honestly, the things you're contemplating have been discussed decades or centuries ago in far greater detail with way better arguments by people who were incomparably smarter than you. you're fucking apes believing yourselves to be deep philosophical thinkers but what you really are is uneducated and self-aggrandizing in your total lack of critical awareness.
Keep us updated if you and when you do find this "truth".I'm interested in hearing your thoughts.

How do you know what God would or wouldnt do? There is a weird thing about God beliefs, everyone seems to think God agrees with them even tho everyone disagrees about many things even among people going to the same church.
We might not even be his chosen people, he might like some aliens in another galaxy and we just made up everything about him like you seem to be doing.
This just in! Human incel who spends time watching other pretentious incels on YouTube thinks he himself finally knows all the truths and answers to the universe. Wow! You did it! You solved it all! You will be hailed as one of the great minds of this century.
Why do people claim what God would or would not do? God created Jesus explicitly to die a preventable death, as one obvious counter-example. That doesn't make suicide rational, regardless of God existing or not, except to prevent pain of some kind.
>Job 11:7 >Can you fathom the deep things of God or discover the limits of the Almighty?

Good one, dipshit. You can debate me if you want, but it would be a waste of our time as I'm correct.
i watched the last episode of this show earlier, and it took until the final episode of the first season to start to reveal its "metaphor". it's really just about growing up and out of the control of your parents. that's actually a giant spoiler, IF you haven't seen the last episode, but then it's just fucking obvious. it's a good show.
lol, if you think god means that bad things can't happen, you're an idiot

>I'm closest to knowing the truth about reality. Based on a false dichotomy mired in false premises? Nope. Listen, kid, you're clearly intellectually curious, but if you don't understand linear reasoning, you're just going to get tangled in illogical loops. I would suggest enrolling in your nearest junior college and signing up for Logic 101.

Dummy, you will never know the truth. It is unprovable within this system. Mathematics has shown this. There are truths that are simply unproveable.

In the bible Judas hung himself. And he is not heaven. If we cant be trusted with this insignificant worldly life, how can god trust us with an eternal one? (paraphrasing from Lewis)
Gabriel Lopez
>In the bible Judas hung himself. And he is not heaven. Acts 1:18 With the payment he received for his wickedness, Judas bought a field; there he fell headlong, his body burst open and all his intestines spilled out.

God and religion is all fake bs. It is merely a tool for people to be controlled.
It's not like the movies user, unless its a CNS hit people don't just fall over dead immediately after being shot.

Ever heard of free will? God might not smite the guy with a bolt of lightning but he will get what's coming to him. Besides God loves him regardless. So should we.

i always imagined what itd be like to torture someone with an assault rifle.
Id shoot their kneecaps first. then when theyre grounded Id disable their wrists by shooting them too. quickly, for the sake of satisfaction. I would just start popping shots from the feet up to their hips. Same with both legs. Then Id do the same to the arms next. 10 shots per limbs, focusing on the joints.
then id scalp them and create incisions everywhere on their skin
He didn't kill himself in Acts was the point. And those aren't the only two stories either. I don't think it matters except when trying to use it as an argument for suicide as a sin. > I wasn't user you originally posted to btw
consider this: whether or not he exists is contingent on your belief. believe he exists, he does. believe he doesn't exist, he doesn't. your objective reality is malleable, and it may be different from the reality of others.
