this, faggy indie like sufjan and the antlers, and woke rap/kendrick lamar

Hoobastank

Mindless Self Indulgence

I distinctly remember trying to get my friends into Swans during high school

The Clash

Based.

And my answer is Korn, even though I'll admit Untouchables is a musically competent album.

Yeah, I was a weird, sexually confused kid.

Mars Volta

Linkin Park

OHHHH THOSE WERE THE FUCKING DAYS.
I might still have If lying somewhere.

Based.

oh god same here, if you were to ask me what my favorite record was at 14 it would be Knife Play

>tfw you used to think that Jamie screaming over clashing drums about HIV was the peak of "artistic sincerity"

I was such a naive boy

My favorite band in middle school was Lush, who were a completely average shoegaze band that bore me now listening to them. I actually said they were better than MBV, wtf.

I can't stand any p4k approved indie now. Cant believe I loved Grizzly Bear in middle school/ high school. I still love Animal Collective tho.

yep all of those late 00s bands like xiu xiu, health, deerhunter etc.

I'm a 20 year old American zoomer who got really into 90s brit music in middle school because of the internet so I actually have mp3s of those bands on my computer. Oasis was the gateway.

>all the people ""cringing"" over liking decent bands in hs/ms
This is the kind of dog shit that I was into

Aerosmith, of course

For me? It's Dipset, of course. The most patrician of rap

Why did he kick the one asian girl out of the band? Is it because she made a comment about Jamie's overreaction to politics?

Tame impala

Pre-if MSI is still good for a yearly listen or so. Aside from some of Bad Choices Made Easy, not a lot to miss out on from the material since.

Lush are straight up better songwriters than MBV, though Kevin Shields is objectively the superior guitar wizard.

This and also R.I.P chester!

Korn's first album is an objectively good album. Like it or not.

ive been listening to dipset the majority of my life at this point. I still geek out when I Really Mean It comes on.

Within Temptation. Everything after Mother Earth is boring to unlistenable and Mother Earth itself is barely tolerable. Enter and The Dance are still okay, but only okay.

I wonder how many people in this thread are going to confess to allowing their current peer group to retroactively dictate whether they actually enjoy something...

>middle school
Linkin Park.
I was watching the Agent of SHIELD trailer yesterday and I turned it off because they were playing a slow female cover of 'In the End' and I couldn't stomach it.
>high school
Coheed & Cambria
