Vapes, I used to love smoking tobacco with my weed in a bong, after doing that for a few months I noticed I couldn't run very far without getting winded, I stopped smoking weed because it made me depressed and paranoid, but I still craved nicotine, so I started buying disposable vapes, it really helps

There are some really good vapes out there, some of them are unintentionally harsher than others, like they have a burnt or dry taste, but good quality ones are smooth and have great flavor, smelling other people's cigarettes will trigger you so quitting cold turkey won't do anything, I strongly suggest buying a strong vape, meaning it has a lot of nicotine in it
I was a smoker since 12 until 33, got 16mg nic salt vape, i'd tried all the others, VG/PG low nic, high nic, all shit.
Either i'd be sucking on the fucker for 12hrs straight or i'd feel like my lungs were closing up, once i'd got a good vape, with 1.5ohms coil, i quit smoking cigs cold turkey, not had one since and it's been ~3 years now.
Vape lasted me liek 12 months, then I cut it down to a 6mg for the habit, a puff when i woke up, a few at night, then nothing since.
I started with a 3mg juice and a chunky two battery mod. I didn't even consider myself quitting cigarettes but I transitioned to vaping at work on my breaks and only smoking cigarettes at home. Eventually the taste of cigarettes started to be ashy and acrid so I just kept vaping more than I smoked until I hit the end of a pack and just didn't care for a cigarette for a couple weeks. Picked up another pack and it took me a month to get through. Now I just grab a pack like once a year when I miss it but it takes me a month or two to get through it.
If you actually want to quit its easy. Do you really want to quit or do you just think you should quit

Cold turkey, patches, gum and all that shit only help if you're 100% committed to quitting.
Vaping gives you your nicotine fix and the physical sensations of smoking. Inhalation, Exhalation and something to occupy your hands.

You still want to smoke or you don't want to smoke. If you really don't want to smoke, you don't smoke. Simple as that.
Smoking pure tobacco without any additives helps to seriously shorten the physical withdrawal effects btw. Your physical withdrawal treatment will be over after a night of sleep. Just don't light another cigarette afterwards. And if you do that or if you don't: well, that only depends on if you really want it or not.
I know it will sound stupid to you, but the simplest way to stop smoking is simply not smoking.
Go slow, it's not really hard after awhile. If you smoke 10 a day try 8. You realize those other 2 don't really mean that much, when your ready 6. On and on till you realize smoking is fucking pointless and does nothing for you. One of my best friend still smokes, so if were fucked up together I'll end up bumming one but refuse to buy packs or bum in any other situation. Just a little treat every now and then.
Honestly because I think I should. I want to to some degree but right now its my only vice. Quit weed cold turkey and its made me feel good about myself just doing it because I wanted to so I might just have to bite the bullet and get the fuck over the withdrawals and just do it

This is going to sound like this biggest load of faggot shit but one of the reasons I keep smoking and can kind of justify it is its an easy weight loss technique but yeah I can just replace it with other shit like lifting weights more, thats been a fun experience actually building muscle after being a pretty weak fat cunt for a good chunk of my adult life

Cold turkey is a way, but not the only way.
The other way is continuous struggle until you quit. Here's how it works:
You've been giving your body the fix (cigs) it asks for, in greater quantities, over a long period of time, and in exchange you obtained satisfaction.
The opposite of satisfaction is frustration. Get used to feeling frustration because curbing your body's desire results in frustration.
This user has it right. If you smoke 10 a day, go for 8 and set a realistic goal (month).
After goal is met, reduce it to 6 for another month. Goal met, reduce to 5. In another month, 4... then 3, 2, 1.
At one point you will simply start to go a couple of days without smoking. Maybe 2 or 3 before you need a cig. When that happens, have a smoke, write it down, and try to go 3-4 days without a smoke.
One day, finally, your body will get tired of the struggle and give up the dependency, and at that point, you won't need to smoke anymore.
ex-wife used the pre-quit patches for a month while reducing her daily cigarettes to only a few, then switched to lozenges. She never even finished her first thing of lozenges before she'd totally quit.

I managed to quit and i was a heavy smoker, pack a day, smoke first thing in the morning kind of thing. What helped me was the lockdown. Basically being able to shut down for a week and suffer in a controlled environment, stress free, was crucial. You shut yourself in and suffer for a couple of days, watch films and binge watch shows, distract yourself with pleasurable things and slowly it gets easier. After that it's just a matter of paying attention to sudden cravings, breathing deeply, counting to ten etc. I did gain some weight but luckily i'm on the naturally slim side so i have it easier in that regard.

The government knows full well that 70% of Australians over 60 were exposed to cigarette smoking and passive smoking all through the 60's, 70's and 80's and early 90's and there is no mass deaths from cigarettes. In fact most peeps are living till there 80's despite heavy cigarette exposure.
Doctors know that smoking prevents pneumonia and humans have been breathing in burning plant material for 200,000 years. Since we don't sleep around campfires, have wood heating etc smoke exposure has been lessened causing real pneumonia deaths. The mass hysteria about smoking has cost lives.
I switched from cigarettes too pouch tobacco and became a pipe smoker, for fun I sometimes use my bong, switching from cigarettes to pouch tobacco I'm smoking far less, about the equivalent of 5 cigarettes a day and getting all the benefits of smoking, protection for Alzheimer's and Parkinson's and pneumonia. I didn't get the vaccine for covid , I just remained a smoker and now smoking only costs me $40 a week.
What i want to say, i don't believe in gradual decrease or substitutes, at least i'm sure that wouldn't have worked for me. Get ready for some suffering and do it in isolation, i don't think i could have managed to do it with work stress and every day social interaction.

Yeah i think thats my plan starting tomorrow, got a medical exemption from work for some mental health issues so I can just disappear for a week or so. I think Im going to just do what I did with weed and count the days on a calendar right next to my bed, see the progress every day

Have you considered smoking a pipe? I have a collection of antique and vintage pipes, and I've been smoking them for about 30 years without getting addicted. How do I know I'm not addicted? Because in the winter, when it's less convenient to smoke, I will go months between bowls and never feel a craving, while I'll smoke two or even three bowls in a day in the summer.
When you smoke a pipe, you don't inhale; you hold the smoke in your mouth to absorb the nicotine and, if you want the full flavour of the tobacco, you blow out through your nose without inhaling, a process called "snorking." In addition, unlike cigarettes, smoking a pipe is not convenient. You can't nip out for a quick puff. A bowl will take anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours to smoke, and it will ring your bell hard with a sudden rush of nicotine -- and then nothing for hours or days or months until your next bowl. Unlike cigarettes, it doesn't habituate you to a constant trickle of nicotine.

I'm a community organizer, so I not only need to carry around pipes, tobacco, czech tool, pipe cleaners, and so forth, I also have to carry around paper, pens, notepads, police complaint forms, pamphlets, business cards, etc. Rather than having to wear a backpack everywhere, I wear a surplus SWAT tactical vest and carry everything I need in the plethora of pockets.
The 1-800 quit smoking website will send you free gum. I did that then switch to always having regular gum on hand 3 years ago. The want to smoke is still there but it's become only a slight want. Not a need. Try and have someone who's opinion you value hold you accountable. It's a hard habit to kick but you got it dude.

The only way is cold Turkey. Extremely bad for two weeks. After a month you start going a whole day without thinking about a cigarette. I've quit two times, with a million attempts in between. You can never go back, and have just one. If you had a gun to your head and they made you watch people in front of you get their brains blown out, you wouldn't even care for a cigarette.
