Post absolute god-tier black metal albums itt
Been really into Blut aus Nord lately, they're incredible
Obligatory
Also obligatory
they're fucking incredible blut aus nord is the best shit ever
only surpassed by transilvanian hunger
definitely one of the better wolves in the throne room albums but the new one is honestly kickin'
Meh, I like far more songs on Panzerfaust, but TH is still up there.
I've honestly not listened to the new one much - they signed to some American label that gave them some money (good) but also told them they had to develop some schtick to create a fanbase (bad). So alll their facebook and twitter posts were suddenly talking about THE WOLFCULT that was meant to be their fans, and I just figured yeah nah not interested
Some of you might be too young
Super underrated band
I thought they really progressed a lot, but I gotta listen to it again. That is interesting to hear.
For some reason Spotify dropped a load of Marduk's album covers
The music's probably great and I'm just being a reactionary dickhead
Who is? I'm always looking for new black metal
Wolves in the Throne Room - Two Hunters, really good album
I noticed this, too. I listen to quite a bit of Marduk, and I think it is because of their "unfavorable views" or some shit. I prefer YouTube anyway. Only advantage to Spotify is I can listen on my phone.
Pentagram and Antichrist are the only two good Gorgoroth albums. After Hat left, they fell off. That was only 1996 or something.
I like youtube, except for the ads - no ads on my spotify subscription. And yeah, this drive to mess with black metal bands who have any traces of badthought is bs. Even a harmless bunch like Winterfylleth get it in the neck for having songs that have elements of early anglo-saxon poetry and bits of old British mythology in their songs. I've honestly listened to more of bands like Taake and Marduk since this shit started to grow.
And that is why I use an adblocker. Youtube has a lot more really small bands that arent cool enough (or are too based) to be on Spotify. M8Л8TХ being a prime example.
Best M8Л8TХ album, btw.
Drudkh are absolutely based.
Cool will check the out
Listening now
Nice
Hi. Could someone please explain to me what exactly black metal is? For reference my highschool and college days were mostly about Metallica, Slayer, Motorhead, Iron Maiden, etc. Thanks in advance for any replies.
>it has to be a certain album art style and production shittiness to be good black metal
found the poseur
bruh, this is total garbage
>eowwwwwwwwaaaaawaaaaaaaawwwwaaaaa
lyrics.
Imo that album is daunting and progressive. The lyrics are about some erie shit.
Why can't these losers write their name legibly? It is as fucking lame as those bone-headed, rapper thugs who can't write legibly, despite practicing all night with cans of spray paint.
I agree.
Dark Funerals first bunch of albums are fantastic.
Maybe neither wanna seem cool to you and you are nothing.
Or I can read and write, have an IQ over 80, have a job, and don't live in my mommy's basement. Get a life.
Black Metal is like Slayer mixed with Iron Maiden, but without any elements of Metallica, or Motörhead.
You probably aren't artistic at all, and don't play an instrument or make anything. You don't understand because you're a dumb normalfag.
Bog tier hidden gem here.
Is there a specific band or group of songs you'd recommend as a jumping off point for a tyro?
>no Sabaton in the thread
Bruh
Not him but 1 wave/80s bm is easy to get into. 2nd wave is what you see spammed on Yea Forums a lot but don't discount 3rd wave either.
Sarcofago, Sodom EP, Venom are examples of 1st wave. Those are easier to get into. 2nd wave is more obtuse and drone like. And with some 3rd wave, the production gets better and has more variance compared to 2nd wave.
I'm sure some kids will not agree with what I say but 1st wave is the most accessible.
Also Bathory is good if you are trying to get into the scene to see if it's for you.
And here is an example of more modern accessible BM... even though it's from 99.
If you want to remain a purist, or maybe understand Black Metal a bit more, start with Welcome to Hell by Venom. Otherwise, to jump right in, start with Darkthrone - Transilvanian Hunger.
I also agree with this.
That album is completely poser dogshit.
depressive suicidal bm
Literally anything Be'lakor, my absolute favorite album is "Be'lakor - Of Breath and Bone"
Belakor is for mallgoth nerds
samefag
windir's stuff are really god like too
