I want to quit drinking but I'm afraid of what might happen or getting withdrawals.
I don't drink as heavy as I used to but I've been drinking so a long time 10+ years daily, I can't even remember the last time I went more than two days without drinking 6 tall cans of beer.
If there anything that can help me get over the three day - week hump? I'm actually terrified of the withdrawals. And I don't want to go to rehab or anything.
Talk to your doctor. They prescribed me something for my withdrawals and it made it all a lot less shitty

What did your doctor give you?

What I noticed from going to AA meetings people who quit drinking smoke a ton and drink tons of coffee. So take up those habits. I don't go to AA anymore cuz I don't need it.

Your doctor can prescribe you with something to help ease withdrawl and curb cravings.
I drank quit a bit for a while and I couldn't eat or control my body temp for like a month after quitting.
However after it's said and done I couldn't be happier that I did. Losing weight, saving money, and not embarrassing yourself every other day are just a few benefits.

Yeah great advice there, just fuck yourself up even worse in a different way Plenty of people smoke and drink tons simultaneously, you could just end up screwing your health over even more

Do you have tremors in the morning when you wake? Do you have tremors if you don't have a drink for a while?
That would be a sign you need medical help/supervision to quit. Usually that involves giving you valium like meds for the first week or so of not drinking.

I’ve struggled with binge drinking for about 20 years now. I had to go to the hospital for withdrawals and they gave me a script for Librium. You could always try a “taper” too. Do you drink all day or just at night?
