TLDR: Japan requires you to behave radically different from what you are used to. Things that you consider rude are a daily given. Things that you consider apropriate are a big no-go.

If you are male, you will get a culture shock with girls also. Japan and Anime-Japan are two completely different countries.
With Japanese girls you risk to be the "trophy white boyfriend". Girls will come fast and go fast, and leave you no chance for an actual romantic relationship. This goes 10x for white females.
Exceptions apply. If you are a college student, well off and young then your chances will be better.
Also: If you're black or Arab-type, just forget about japan. You will be seen as unsympathetic savage.
I dont hate japan. But the reality is harsh over there.

the major cities are absolutely flooded with chinks and the "english teaching industry" is 80% filipinos now.
they're too used to seeing foreigners now, so unless you end up somewhere in bumfuck nowhere in the Inaka you wont be anything special

japan is only fun to live in if you are military. I lived their for two years. It was ok but if I was just another Jake teaching english over there I wouldn't like it.
