1. they're lazy
2. manuals are actually hard to find anymore

I live in the US and it's all I drive. You have to order them though. I really have no clue why people want automatics.

Modern automatics have solved most of the efficiency/reliability issues inherent in older automatics, and only dedicated car aficionados value the "feel" of a manual over the convenience of an auto.

What convenience?

Getting stuck in muddy grass and being unable to rock the car back and forth to free it like you would in a manual.

Don't gotta move muh hand when ahm drivin'

I hate modern autos. It's either nonstop gear hunting because they have 57 speeds to squeeze out a few more mpg. Or it's a shitty cvt. My wife's car has a cvt and it feels like a disconnect piece of shit.

You have so much more control with a stick.

LoL that pic cracks me up every time.

Have you tried to ever driven a manual in bumper to bumper traffic in a major city? That shit destroys your clutch pads like there's no tomorrow.
If you live in the suburbs or country, having a manual as a daily driver is easy. But in the city? I'd rather bike or take public transit than drive a manual.

Don't play dumb.

Yes I have. That's why i don't live or drive in shitty bumper to bumper traffic.

>Getting stuck in muddy grass and being unable to rock the car back and forth to free it like you would in a manual.
What percentage of driving time is spent in muddy grass vs urban traffic.

Been there a few times driving a manual. But I live in the burbs and driving stick is fun.

What in the fuck do you need to do other than drive?
I bet a faggot like you can't put his phone down for any length of time.

Hopefully none but getting stuck can happen to the best of us.

Only if you've never driven in the snow or mud, and don't know the limits of your vehicle.

Modern technology always beats nostalgia

Wrong.

>What in the fuck do you need to do other than drive?
What the fuck are you talking about?

I can drive a stick just fine (they're a bit more common in Australia than in America), but you're just playing dumb if you're going to pretend that driving an auto isn't more straightforward than driving manual, especially in urban traffic.

Its so easy to play keyboard tough guy and never admit to any mistakes.

>I really have no clue why people want automatics.

Because for a lot of people, their vehicle is nothing more than another appliance and they want it to be as simple and brainless to operate as possible so they can have that extra hand free for drinking, texting, jerking off and whatever else they do in traffic besides paying attention to driving. It's also why modern vehicles need maintenance reminders, tire pressure monitors, lane departure warnings and all of the other electronic crap that people can't be fucked to pay attention to anymore.

I've never owned a manual and have never got stuck in an auto.

I got stuck a few times when I was a kid, but i haven't gotten stuck in 15 years.

my first 2 vehicles were manual, my current one automatic. can't think of a single reason to ever go back to manual.
theres no benefit. i dont find driving "fun", its just a way to get somewhere. automatics use computers with milisecond reaction times to adjust perfectly.
I swear people who are manual advocates only do it because of machismo or something. They're always the kind of people who drive huge expensive trucks despite never hauling anything in their lives.

It's a hell of a lot more boring.

Kek. Maybe “fun” when you’re young. No older driver will drive that. 20-speed?

Man you are a bitch faggot for no reason

Lol, did you get butthurt little zoomer?

I don't like working a stick like that. Kinda gay to need to have your hand on a shaft imo

I learned to drive on a manual. The first time I drove an automatic I hated it. Had to firmly on the brake to keep the stupid thing from creeping forward at a stop.

I'm Canadian and I had the clutch rebuilt on my Toyota Tercel last year.
I always figured the average nigger can't figure out the manual transmission so my car is less likely to get stolen

Gay jokes wont work here. We're not rollerbladers, lol.

And I love love love working that stick. :)

Good point, most zoomers and niggers can't drive a stick

Name one benefit to a manual transmission.
I'll wait.

?

So, you've never driven one or can't drive one.

Cheaper to repair, generally cheaper to insure. Can get better gas mileage. I like them more and so it makes me happy. Not going to change for you.

you can downshift faster than any automatic

Average IQ of Americans is below global average

They struggle to count to 6

I bought my 3rd manual last year and realized that manuals on car lots are embarrassments. They're all gen 7 or some shit and have the same branding and model name as your fathers' cars, but are Mexican chunks of metal with computers in them.
I still bought mine because I choose it over automatic

Where are you from?

I can its not hard its just inconvenient and offers no tangible benefit. People just like to have something they think makes them "better" than others.

That rev hang is a motherfucker. At least thats what I heard.

90% of Americans cannot locate America on a map of America

Lmao no fag, just callen em as I sees em.
You stood out so I felt like calling you a little bitch

Kek, you're not much of a driver huh?

Spot the guy that drives bumper to bumper with the clutch pedal half depressed because he can only move 10 ft at a time

Because our new safety regulations require new cars to be manufactured with all sorts of radar, anti collision braking systems, lane keep assist etc. that takes control of the vehicle away from the driver, and some of these new mandatory safety features conflict with manual transmissions.

Citation needed.

Manuals aren't fun nor are they cool

Kek why would I be jealous of that shit hole

Independent research has repeatedly shown Australia has more personal freedoms than the US and on top of that, I don't live near any niggers

Cool story you cucked buffoon.

See:

All the adverts, all 10,000 adverts per hour told them automatics were "luxury". It stayed that way for the past 50 years. Also ameritards are too thick to understand how to use it, most mutts cannot "drive a stick"

kek

if I encountered pic related, I would be powerless as well

So from a country where the government can put you in a camp for the cold and you have utterly no weaponry.

...

Yep. Had to retrain myself a little to not get that. It's like training yourself to write with a broken pencil, but it's still fun in the end

LoL how are those gun rights doing? And those covid camps and highly coerced inoculations? I thought the burgers were bad but your dystopia takes the cake.

Same reason I don't use Linux.

It's not just in America, also Australia, China, India, Mexico to name a few, with US, that's almost 3/4 of overall population of earth. Why? Because there is no benefit to manual transmission for ordinary driving. It's a nuisance and another complication added to make the percentage of bad drivers even bigger. Cars are headed towards full automation with the autopilots used in Tesla and such, so that drivers are removed from the equation. Anything that involves human skill will mean inevitably human mistakes and therefore more accidents and death.

Manual only really makes sense in sports cars or track cars where you really need precision control over the engine to get the maximum torque as it corners or takes off for example. If I'm taking my ass to grocery store to buy milk and banana, I give two shits about any of that. I want to press a pedal to get there. Better yet, I want to sit in the back and let the car take me there.

LoL beat me to it.

Honestly whats the point/benefits of manual?

People were put in 4-5 star hotels owned by huge hotel chains to isolate for 14 days them. Oh the horror!

They had no choice, call it what you want your rights are fucked.

Did you try reading the thread?

Attached: no hampster wheel.jpg (1024x512, 83.35K)

Not only that but automakers have to crash test every engine/transmission combo they offer and when the take rate for manuals is 5-10%, it's deemed more expensive than it's worth in sales.

That said, I do believe that both manufacturers and dealers are guilty of manipulating the market by either only ordering certain configurations or by discouraging customers from buying them or by only offering a manual tranny on the lowest, most stripped out trim. Oh, you want air conditioning? You have to move up to the next trim level which isn't available with a manual.

There's a lot more control over the vehicle. You can also slow down without using the brakes on long downhill stretches.

Goddamn, bro, you never drove one before

We havent forgotten how you were locked in your apartments for weeks on end. But you can try to sugar coat things all you want.

Not bad actually I have a few

Our laws stop niggers from getting guns but as a whole we have more guns now than we did pre "ban". Cool story doe

But they did have a choice. They could wear a mask and wash their hands or they could go to quarantine so their bullshit behaviour doesn't infect the rest of us. It's the same as your niggers, they can either choose to be part of society or they can be quarantined in a state penitentiary

That was china you fucking goof

False equivalency. What is the mortality rate of the 'Rona for a healthy person under 50?

People are just arguing about muh freedumbs

I guess i dont see the point since my car gets me where i need to be without any problems.
no sure why i would need "more control" whatever that means.

We were talking about cars but the Aussie fags can't get the US off of their sun baked brains.

>no clue why people want automatics.
You have a clue. One very obvious clue.

Attached: 1616703825820.jpg (615x477, 31K)

Well it would appear that you're not a very good driver.

The Japanese on that sign reads "please do no place trash here"

Eh whatever wrong guy. Nice, American-looking burger though.

1.4%, about 100x influenza which kills 16.3 in 100k according to the cdc

It's a good thing we killed everybody over the age of 50 though
